Thought this would be a good place to talk about the amazing band Beach House. I've tried in the Stevie forum, but it never takes. Haha!! Anyone else like them??

I'm iffy on Beach House. Sometimes I think they're just trying too hard

I saw them on one of the late night shows... Conan, I think? And I must admit that I found them to be interesting. I would like to hear more.

I appreciate their lyrics & their songs. I feel they have great things ahead of them. Their shows are magical.

Here are a few great Beach House videos..

This is the beautiful "Walk in the Park" from the new album.
Pretty cool cinematography via someone in the crowd.

Here's a nice interview with the band. They give a track by track analysis of the new album "Teen Dream"

Quote from Beach House interview:

Interviewer: Victoria, what a voice you have. It's so unique and different. Did you know you've been getting a lot of comparisons to Stevie Nicks? What do you think of that?

Victoria: I think it's better than Nico. At least Stevie Nicks hits actual notes.

Alex: Stevie Nico.

Victoria:
Nico Nicks.

'Norway' from Teen Dream could easiliy have been on TITN. The only thing is the slide guitar riff in the verses but if you take it out and replace it with something a little more "Lindsey" then it'd be a perfect match.

I'm going to see Beach House on the 14th of this month. I'm sort of looking forward to it. I like them but I don't love them and I don't know that they're a band I'll be able to keep a sustained interest in.

I'm just back from a Valentine's Day evening with Beach House. They were fantastic. Seeing them live has made me appreciate them on a new level. After each song I kept thinking "If this song isn't one I like I'll go to bar" but I loved every song. I didn't even realise I liked so many of their songs.

If you can see these guys live then I recommend that you do.

I love this band so much. I saw them three times on the Teen Dream tour. I had some really interesting personal experiences with Victoria, with whom I'm in love, even though I'm gay. haha.

I ended up front row at the Webster Hall show, waited for them after, had a half hour chat with Victoria. She told me she saw me waiting on line and wanted to stop and talk to me but there were too many people and saw me in the front row! We kissed and hugged constantly, she and Alex signed my Teen Dream, we took pictures together. The next night, I took the trip to Philly to see them without a ticket and got put on the guest list by Alex! I went backstage after and she came right up to me and hugged me! I also saw them opening for The National at Prospect Park.

My point being: these guys are the best.
