Question Was the Dance ever on LP Vinyl?

I have heard some people say that the Dance was released on vinyl? Is this true? I know there was a promotinal picture in the shoe of a record cover, but was there ever a vinyl record?

I know there are 45rpm singles from The Dance (I have a GYOW/Silver Springs one), but I've never seen an actual vinyl LP of it.

Maybe they're confusing it with the album flat? It's the same size as a vinyl LP.

NO!
I've heard people say this before, that they think they saw one once or that they're pretty sure it was released on vinyl, but not one people who actually owns a vinyl copy has stepped forward!
DeadliestPoison is right there were 7" singles from The Dance and even 12" singles, and there was a vinyl flat (often used in stores in place of an actual vinyl copy) but it was never released on vinyl.

The same goes for Stevie's Street Angel. Never released on vinyl. Nope. For sure.

The last Fleetwood Mac album released on vinyl was Behind The Mask and the last Stevie album on vinyl was Timespace. All of Lindsey's albums are on vinyl though...

Lindsey signed my Go Insane album cover in Nashville. Note: If there is a chance of rain, please take a plastic bag with you. Thank God, I had purchased Mac merchandise that was in a plastic bag. It was POURING rain on the way back to my car after the concert. Picture this! I had the signed album wrapped in one of the t shirts I purchased and then wrapped it again in the the plastic, merchandise bag with the rest of the merchandise in it. To top it all off I shoved all this up my shirt for protection. I had no umbrella or rain gear, and I'm running to my car (which is like 50 miles away) with all this stuff shoved under my tank top. I looked totally stupid (I was afraid I was flashing parts of myself to half the parking lot, but my album made it back to the car dry, somehow. Lesson learned-----as Towelie on South Park says, "Don't forget your towel!" or in this case, plastic bag cover!

Default Most assuredly

I will be putting it in a plastic cover for sure, perhaps, even two. LOL

After what happened to some Ledgies covers getting smeared ("It's WET!!" - Lindsey Buckingham LOL!!), I hope it doesn't get smeared or bent!!

Default The mystery of the The Dance on vinyl solved...

I remember someone saying they saw The Dance on vinyl, but I am still sure it was never released on this format. If you look there is no catalogue number for it to be found and I maintain a vinyl version doesn't exist.

However there was a laserdisc version, which of course looks like a vinyl lp from the cover and here's the proof:

The Dance laser disc

I wish Street Angel and TISL were released on vinyl. I have all her other ones still sealed and it sucks that it is missing two of them. I have to say though that the cover art is ten times better on vinyl than CD.

A vinyl DOES exist...and to this day one of my greatest regrets is not buying it when I found it - they did release it on Vinyl - but very few...

Paul McCartney still releases limited #'s of his cds on Vinyl - it's just a matter of finding them...

I came across a 12'' Dance in 1998 - I didn't have $$ at the time - so I waited - went back to get it and they were sold out

It's out there....I swear!
