Default LBT Rumour of Christine in NOLA

[Rumours that Christine will be there. I don't believe them, but if it happens I will be out of my mind. I will hate everyone in New Orleans, but at least you guys can give us useful information about what to look forward to in England]

Little Big Town Crosses Paths With Fleetwood Mac

LBT hopes to catch rare Christine McVie return to Fleetwood Mac.

Brad Schmitt | Published: May 02, 2013 Country Weekly
http://www.countryweekly.com/news/li...-fleetwood-mac

Little Big Town and Fleetwood Mac are both on the bill this weekend (May 4) at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

And LBT is pumped. You might remember that Little Big Town did a CMT Crossroads show with Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham a few years back, and the country foursome often sings Fleetwood Mac song “The Chain” in concert.

But there's another reason to be pumped about the weekend performance—rumors are that former Fleetwood Mac member Christine McVie might perform with her old band.

And Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town is hopin’, prayin’, wishin’ it’s true.

“Now I’ve heard they’re all going to be there, but I don’t know if it’s true if Christine’s coming or not,” Karen tells ABC News Radio. “She better be.”

I am a native New Orleanian and I will be there for Fleetwood Mac on Saturday...I have been a fan since the mid-seventies and have seen them and Stevie/Lyndsey Solo countless times over the years... I also have been attending the Jazzfest for decades...it has always been my dream to see them on the Acura Stage as one of the headlining acts...like you said, not sure if it is true, but if THE miracle happens, all I can say is WOW

Speaking of Christine, when are we gonna see that movie about Dennis Wilson with Vera Firmiga starring as Christine?

OMG, I cannot stand Little Big Town. Or at least I tell myself that..

I do catch myself humming along to "Pontoon," when it comes on at work. (Against my will!) They're just so annoying to me, like the band Fun.

I love Pontoon. It didn't make me buy the album though. I thought their Crossroads with Lindsey was fun.

I will not be okay if Christine joins the band ANYWHERE on the tour, tbh.
If it was formally announced, and there was the opportunity to buy tickets, that would be different...

And with Mick saying it, London is pretty formal, but he only said it AFTER tickets were gone and we still don't know the day. Hopefully, she will just do all 3 days (even though Mick said she wouldn't) but if she does one, it's really shameful that people who show up those other two nights miss out. I mean, most people won't care, but the people who do care a LOT and the band should be more considerate.

It happened when Gilmour joined Waters in London a couple years ago. If the show is sold out how is it being inconsiderate to not give advanced warning? 20,000 people will get to see it either way and the shows would all be sold out whether she's there or not. And they'll get a great performance from the band which is what they paid for. Like you said, nothing was mentioned until after the tickets were sold so those people didn't buy tickets expecting Christine anyway. It's not shameful.

I read somewhere that the lead actor quit or was fired. Can't remember... but it was on hold.

Fans who have been waiting for 15 years to see her again should get the chance to do it if they want. They should at least get the chance to try, rather than to live the rest of their lives regretting it, assuming this will be her last performance with the band -- and probably at all.

You can still get tickets for the show(s). You just need to work for it. Why put people through all that trouble. At a Meet and Greet show Mick said they should just buy tickets to all 3 events. He was just being glib, but I don't appreciate the remark.

If she appears at one show and not the others and we are never told which show it will be, it's inconsiderate, shameful and, frankly, a lot more than that.

I am not even sure he was entirely glib. It would not surprise me if keeping the fans in the dark about the date is yet another way to fleece them for what amounts to another golden oldies tour.

Until the Mac comes out with a full-length studio album of new music I can't get enthusiastic about their touring.

I don't buy the EP logic that the band is "assessing" if there's enough interest in a full album. That's bull. I also don't buy the logic that Christine's full participation on a studio album is continent on her willingness to tour. And finally, I don't buy the excuse that the band performs mostly old songs because audiences would otherwise walk. It's all bull.

I agree on the first two points. I don't believe they're going to record a full album based on the success of the EP. They'll record when Stevie wants to record. She didn't give the band any songs for the EP. She doesn't want to do it. Until she does, it won't happen. If Christine said she was willing to do an album, but not tour I just don't see Mick saying "Nope, no can do". That's ridiculous. On the third point, I think they absolutely believe that the audience would lose interest if they did not play all the hits.

I think you're overreacting. At least to this point. They probably don't know right now which show she'll be at and I'm sure she doesn't either. I doubt they've got that set in stone. It's possible they'll let that information slip as it gets closer to the gig and they have concrete plans. I think right now it's just an idea. A verbal agreement. The shows are 5 months away.

For SYW the band didn't participate in the rumors and in his Q & A John seemed almost apologetic that they circulated at all, saying that there was never a plan for Christine to appear when they were in England. This time around, Mick does seem to be trying to fan the talk himself. Of course, It's more than talk, since Christine has indicated her willingness too.
