This is Hillary being dissention: WTF? Jessica may not be great, but she is way better at singing than her sister. Ashlee is completely talentless. "Pieces of Me" shows us what? That she knows the days of the week? That she can churn out the same shallow cliches as other pop singers? And what does "LaLa" show us? I can't even begin to describe that one. It's one of the worst things I've heard in a long time. We sit around the dormitory and make fun of every lyric of that song. It's that bad. I think my favorite line is "You can dress me up in dirt." The girl has no talent. And she sucked on "7th Heaven," too.

I have to quit allowing dissention to type up parts of my posts. Had that been in my words, I would have been much kinder and I would've stressed several times that it was all JMO.

Anyway, back to the lovely Christine. I was very psyched this week because I heard "Friend" in Sears and Quiznos.

I can't diss artists who write their own music.

Not a fan of Not.Commercial? I don't like all of it, either, but I think "Sisters of Mercy" beats "Lala" by a landslide.

I'm ashamed to say this, but I don't know what it means when people say "<333" and such. I've been staring at post after post with that combination of symbols and numbers and I'm just baffled. What does that mean?

You're a Gloria Estefan fan? I love her!

Okay, here's my list of cheesy pop singers I love. Some are much better than others but I love (or loved) them all.

Celine
Gloria
Christina (first two albums)
Britney (first three albums)
Shakira
Cher
Savage Garden
Darren Hayes

It's a heart <3 Isn't it cute?

I love Savage Garden/Darren Hayes, too. I didn't pick up his solo album. Is it any good?

I love Celine, too. I wanna see her in Vegas so bad!

Oh, it's a heart! When did people start using that? How behind the times am I?

I love Celine but I can't pay that much to see her. I think it costs even more than a Mac concert, doesn't it?

I'm very fond of a lot of the tracks on Darren's solo debut. Some are just silly to me, like "Heart Attack." But some of them are really, really fun and others are great ballads. I don't like the writing as much now that he's not with Daniel (something about it was better), but he's good in his own right. There's a major difference, though--he rambles. His solo songs are kind of like Stevie solo songs in that he'll do the chorus eight times at the end and play with the song (think "Wild Heart," though there may be better examples). Sometimes I like this and sometimes I don't. It's just something Darren does. I love "Insatiable," "Strange Relationship," "Like it Or Not," "Crush (1980 Me), "What You Like" and some others. I totally played some of it out when it first came out. I think you woud really enjoy most, if not all of it.

I think she is so cute. Plus, she just seems like a really nice and down-to-earth person.

*Disclaimer: These Are My OPINIONS*

Ashlee Simpson is a hack, just like her sister (who cracked me up by trying to make it look like she was hitting the high notes on Divas Live that Miss Cyndi and Miss Labelle were actually singing). I can easily diss any artist who writes their own music if I think it's utter crap. Writing a song does not equal writing a good song. Writing a song does not equal having talent. Her music is cheesy as all hell and in one of the ****ty songs I've heard, she says she wants to be dressed up in dirt. Unfortunately, that's not possible since all the dirt in the world is on skanky Miss "I Wanna Be Dirt-tay" Aguilera, but that's not the point. Point is, she writes inane and cliched songs. Her voice is average and she has no sense of style that distinguishes her from any other pop tart in the current market. Cheese is cheese. If you like cheese, more power to ya. But I'd prefer seeking out music that has artistic merit and that has a bit more depth to it than "dress me up in dirt," or whatever the hell the lip-syncher says. But, then again, I'm a fancy-pants elitist.
