Do you remember being so amazed that she changed her outfit to another color other than black? And wasn't it cool sharing the mic with Lori?

My best friend came over to watch and spend the night. I remember thinking.. OMG! "Nightbird" and then my friend and I sat up rewatching it (we recorded it) and we we're both "Where's the official video?" We would both hear "Nightbird" every morning on the way to High School.

I certainly cannot because it aired past my bedtime as a 10 year old child But how awesome was that, Viv!

I recorded it too and rewatched it a million and one times. Somewhere in here I still have the original video recording.

I was expecting a lip sync job from Stevie because all the acts who appeared on the show did just that. Was most surprised to get a live vocal. It was also the first time she appeared on TV with golden brown hair. Not blonde.

I did too! Seemed like I waited forever for it.

How so? Did we have advance notice at the time?

Just so anxious for her to come on before I fell asleep.

How could you remember that? It's not the same as remembering the long wait for albums to be released.

Does anyone know if there are plans to release the 1983 season of SNL on dvd? I think the last series to be issued was 1979-1980. I just wish Stevie's performance of "Nightbird" would get an official release - it's one of her best in my opinion.

I can! I found it fascinating that she performed Night Bird. It's strange because the song doesn't scream "single", yet it was released as such (I have the picture sleeve promo 45). She performed it once, and then it flew away, and she didn't even include it in her Wild Heart tour set.

I wish she would do a tour and just perform album tracks she's never done live, with a few staple songs at the end of the show...I know...only in my dreams. I also dream of a live anthology akin to Tom Petty's amazingly epic box set. I made a list of songs, and it amounts to about 64 songs.

Don't you remember waiting up for Santa Claus and trying to make yourself go to sleep so the time would fly faster, but then being so excited that you couldn't sleep and the minutes felt like hours?

Remembering anticipation is easy.

This needs it's own thread.

If I wasn't a fan before, I was after this
television appearance. I'm not so jaded
that I can't say that this night changed
my life.

It was an odd choice for a single, but I think her label was pushing for something light and Fleetwood Mac-ish.

There was the Solid Gold performance too. She was totally stoned, but she looked and sounded amazing.
