The show (Boston 3/31) was weird. It wasn't like Say You Will when Christine just left. All I could think about the whole time was how they "fired" him. After all those years, all those albums, they just said goodbye. It just felt wrong. There was this underlying mean-spirited feeling that held over the whole show.

Of course, I still love Stevie and Christine. But, we're in a fight.

It was more like Buh-Bye than Goodbye. Buh-Bye, Baby.

The whole point of firing Lindsey was giving him a lesson. No matter if if it was their last tour or if they were still planning on doing another tour. She waited until Musicares, but I have the feeling she wanted to fire him even before that event. Hey, at least she had the heart to let him receive his award in front of his family!

What people don't understand is that they just. don't. care. They don't care about the legacy, they don't care about fans' feelings, and they certainly don't care at all about Lindsey's condition.

It's just the flu. She will be fine. She's inmortal.

I've not quite given up, in the sense that I would buy any new music that this incarnation might deign to put out, but I'm not holding out much, no, hope is the wrong word...maybe completist interest...but I'm not going to see this lot live.

It's a pretty crappy way for it all to end. Part of me now wishes that Stevie would just leave them be and that the final act of this band could be a reconfiguration of Peter (maybe helped out by Rick Vito), Jeremy, Christine, John and Mick, playing the odd show here or there to bow out. That would be a way to go.

They really should be saying goodnight. They really shouldn't stay anymore.

They were unconscious to the pain he was in.

yup. we should start a thread under this name. time to hang it up. they are running themselves into the ground now - they should quit while they are still more/less healthy.

Please don't come here paying this negative crap.

It just HAS to be something really serious.

She's so brave. She knew she was under the weather, but she struggled for as long as she could for her band. Once the RRHOF ceremony was over, she just collapsed under the strain. She's carried them all for so long.

Is it not odd that they know she's still going to have the flu 3 weeks from now? When does Europe kick off? Are they sparing her for that? Just seems odd--

I know what you mean, but to play devil's advocate, I traveled for Christmas and when I returned home I got a cold after New Year's. It is now more than 3 months later and I still have a cough from that. I'm not a singer and I don't have all of the remedies at my disposal that Stevie does. I really have not tried to do anything for my cough except tea, honey and Alka Seltzer. But I am pretty sure if I had a flu today, I'd still have a cough in May.

it is odd. flu normally doesn't last for a month. so if she's sick it's probably something worse. hope whatever it is that she recuperates and will be fine.

but why this band's first instinct is to so obviously lie about everything is just weird.
