Default Christine Interview clip

Here's an interview clip from Christine where she talks about seeing FM and the "friendly persuasion" and "arm breaking" techniques they used to try to get her to appear with them during their London stop on the SYW tour.

She just froze because of all the preparation it takes. You can't just jump on stage, etc. You've probably heard the full interview before.

Aww, I hadn't heard it but I agree with her. I'll bet the last time she played Don't Stop was The Dance in all honesty.

It's Psychology 101. She froze because she didn't want to get roped into the madness anymore. She could have easily performed the song: she's sung and played it 1000s of times.

Well, yeah you can. It IS possible. I've know from experience. It might not be GREAT, but nobody would've given a crap. At worst, it would've completely sucked and nobody would ever ask her to do anything again, which sounds like a win-win for Christine.

That's a new clip, obviously from an ITM intervew from 2004. I wish they'd posted the entire interview.

Thanks for posting, Michele!

I respect Christine in the sense that, when some people retire they actually "retire". Other people retire every year...

When she said she was done w/ Fleetwood Mac, she was done with Fleetwood Mac.

Well, it did take her a few times. She'd been saying since 1973 that she was considering leaving the band. In a 20/20 special on the band in 1979, she intimated that she'd like to stop touring with the band in a few years. She "quit" touring alongside Stevie after the Mask tour. And then quit again after The Dance. The difference was we all knew she'd stick to her guns after The Dance. For the first time ever other bandmates were remarking how little she enjoyed the touring.

All of them talked about quitting since back in the day (except mick and john). But I think the first time I actually heard the word "retire" was after the Dance.
