Unhappy Maurice Gibb dies

It's with great sadness to say that Maurice Gibb died this morning after complications of surgery a few days ago.
Let our prayer go out to his friends and family.
He will be greatly missed.
Another great one lost.

This makes me think on how grateful I am that all Fleetwood Mac member are all alive and healthy for the most part. I know a few of them went crazy, but considering all the abuse they put themselves through its amazing.
It makes me think on how we never know when our time will come. We have to make sure that every word we speak is in love and is as kind as possible, because that word maybe the last we speak.
It's important that we have out life in order and right with the ones we love, and right with our creator God.
Bless you all.

Because Maurice Gibb was a member of one of the greatest 70's groups...It should be posted here, because everyone is affected by this...

The Bee Gees song "Jive Talking" was the direct influence for the guitar intro. to "Second Hand News", the first track on "Rumours". Maurice Gibb, being the main musician of the Bee Gees was responsible for coming up with the original idea. Therefore the intro to Fleetwood Mac's greatest album of all time was, in effect, written by Maurice Gibb.

The world just lost a member of one of the greatest and most influential bands of all time.

I think you should let the moderators decide whether or not this topic is appropriate in this forum.

I reckon. Well said Alex.

There was something especilly shocking about this tragic news. I'm thinking maybe it has to do with the fact that apart from their 'eternal youth', these guys were never embroiled in any great degree of controversy, seem/ed to live their lives with dignity and a sort of maturity not often found at the heady heights of top-o-the-chart stardom. The BeeGees are of course Australian, yet in effect men of the world, but certianly call America their home these days ... So we all feel the loss.

The BeeGees started out as a boy singing band in my city, Brisbane, and never lost that spark of youthfulness, innovation and energy. It's devastating news becuase I had read Barry remarking in an article 24 or so hrs ago that he (Maurice) was ill but doing fine.

I've never heard 'Just Talking', well at least I don't think I have.

Unhappy

It is always sad when music loses one of its own. He will be sorely missed. It is terribly sad that he died at a fairly young age. My heart goes out to his family and friends. As someone had posted previously, we are truely lucky that the members of The Mac are still healthy overall. What a blessing!

Default Maurice

I will miss him. While I like FM the best of all the bands whose music I am familiar with and like, I also like others almost as well. The BeeGees are one of those groups.

Thank you, Maurice, for what you gave us..
