Default Any Rumours about Rumours II?

Now, I can't find a citation, but I believe the members of the Mac have said in interviews that during the month of January 2010, they intended to get together for a meeting to discuss their next steps: cut an album, tour, break up, put aside time for solo work before getting back together again for a greatest hits tour lol. . .

Anyway, the end of Januaray is upon us. Has anyone heard any rumours about this meeting? Did it happen? What decisions were made? Did Stevie and Lindsey fight? Will they do Idol?

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

*Obviously*, they meant to say "January 2011".

Surely one of the various Ledgies with "industry connections" and "insider info" has all the answers for us .

The exact quote from Stevie was:

"When we're on the road, we barely have time to go and have a meal, let alone write new material, but in January we'll have a meeting and decide what to do."

But no news about it since! But I agree, somebody has to have some insider info somewhere as to what they decided on!! But I do think Stevie will do something solo first. I don't know why, but it seems like solo Stevie has been more active lately. Rumours of her being in the studio with Peter Asher, her expected performance at the Grammys, and it seems The Nicks Fix is being updated on a more regular basis lately. Whereas, we haven't had any Fleetwood Mac news since Unleashed. Maybe her and Mick both decided they wanted to do solo stuff in 2010 and that FM should reunite for an album in 2011? And maybe she worked on some solo stuff during 2009 and she wants to finish that up first? However, I won't believe anything until I actually see it. And also, I thought they were looking forward to Unleashed because if they decided to do a record they would be warmed up and not be going into the studio cold and have to figure out how to get along with eachother again? If thats the case, it seems to me that it would be stupid to wait a year or more to do something...

Welcome to Fleetwood Mac fandom! Equally as much stupidity and waiting as an afternoon at the DMV!

I honestly don't know what to expect next out of these kids. Two years ago Stevie was basically saying she'd never work with the band again... yet here she is traipsing across the globe for a year with them. She said she didn't think she'd record another solo album ever again a couple of years ago too... but there she was last year talking about how she needed to record another one. Stevie Nicks is the queen of say one thing, do another. It seems like everyone is on board with doing another album, so that's a start. Like I said a year ago, I still don't think we'll see it from them until 2012 or so. They've all gotta take their long vacations, spend time with their families, badmouth each other in the press, and then they'll get around to an album.

As much as I can't argue with this, Lindsey just about got them touring with (opening for?) the Eagles..

As for Stevie herself, she needs the Mac. She maybe has one solo album left in her, FM itself maybe has 2 if they don't get too old waiting around to actually record them. Lindsey and Mick probably have plenty

Now that Unleashed is over, we just need to wait and see what happens. I bet there'll be more 'rumours' before too long. The big egos need to sit down and thrash it out. Hopefully they actually agree on stuff and we get the album. Let's hope Say You Will isn't the last Mac album..

It seemed like his idea, or he at least felt it could be useful (Stevie being the dissenting voice) from the long long threads that recently finished up..

I know that someone posted that Stevie was against it, but there wasn't anything talking about Lindsey's reaction to the pairing at all. Except for his silence and the absence of posts disputing his silence, there was no discussion of his feelings about it at all (except surprise by fans that he would be part of such a thing) and certainly there was no suggestion that it was his idea.
