Default "Greatest Hits?"

Ok so Fleetwood Mac has had a total of 18 top 40 hits on the Billboard top 40 pop chart (all but 2 made the top 20) and 10 of these 18 were Christine Mcvie songs.I kind of shudder to think how some of these hits will be presented on this upcoming tour. Will Christine's parts be done by "backup " singers? Will Lindsey and Stevie sing them ?I don't know but it kind of sounds all bad to me.

I think Lindsey said he and Stevie would do some of Christine's songs and cut off some of "their" songs in favor for Chris' songs, but I don't know anything more than that.

I guess these are the most famous FM-songs:

Say You Love Me
Rhiannon
Landslide
Over My Head
Go Your Own Way
Don't Stop
You Make Loving Fun
Dreams
Sara
Tusk
Gypsy
Little Lies
Everywhere
Big Love
Seven Wonders
As Long As You Follow

I plan on seeing them in Rochester, NY on March 16. My two friends (a man and woman) want to dress up as the cover of Rumors. I said I'd go as the Christine heckler who yells out "Where's Christine?!" anytime they attempt one of her songs. Or, who knows, I may sing Songbird doing a long drum solo--something obnoxious.

Kidding!

In all honesty, I hope they don't do her songs. At best, they might pull off World Turning, Don't Stop, and Hold Me--all duets that heavily feature Lindsey's voice.

You forgot Hold Me, which, outside of Dreams, Don't Stop and Little Lies, was the band's biggest single.

They already played Don't stop in the SYW tour, and it was cool cause Lindsey always sing it since the studio version.
But I don't see Stevie singing Songbird, YMLF or Everywhere. Each singer has its "trademark" in their songs.

Lindsey voice is also too low now, for singing Love in Store or Little Lies. We would miss Christine more than already we do, if they try to sing their songs. Bad idea.

Interesting how that song fell into obscurity, at least in comparison the other singles. It wasn't even included on The Chain box set, and never performed live after the Mirage tour.

I remember being interested how they would pull off that song live --when I was going to my first Fleetwood Mac concert in 1982. Of course they modified the song for live performance. Instead of "Hold Meeeeee" we got "Hold me yeah!" Either or, I love the harmonies.

It's always bothered me how "Hold Me" did just that - dropped into obscurity. It was a big hit for the band and after the Mirage Tour they just sort of forgot about it. I tend to think that the shortness of the 1982 tour had a lot to do with it. It just didn't get a lot of exposure. When the band went back out in 1987, they had a hit new album on their hands and seemed willing to ignore their lesser successes and just focus on Tango, Rumours, and the White Album. From that point on, with very few exceptions, the entire Mirage album has been looked at unfavorably by the band. Gypsy quickly was nixed in 1987 and wasn't brought back into the Mac's set until The Dance. Eyes of the World made a fleeting appearance in '97 and then didn't show up again until 2003. I don't get it. The album has it's down points but there are moments of excellence on it in my opinion: Hold Me, Gypsy, Straight Back, Eyes of the World, Love in Store, Book of Love.

I would love to see Lindsey pull Hold Me off on the new tour. As he often pointed on during the Mirage Tour, it's a "hell of a song."

I think "Hold Me" or "Think About Me" would be good choices. And, I'd love to hear Stevie cover "I'd Rather Go Blind" since she kinda sounds like Etta James, but that last one is the biggest drunken pipe dream MacD's ever had.
