I don't even know what to think anymore. I wonder where all of this negativity towards Lindsey is coming from now. Could it possibly be from the pressure he's putting on her to finish the new record?
I've been wondering if Stevie and/or Liz have just put a gag on asking about the FM album all together? Because it blows my mind that no one has even asked about it in any interviews. I keep waiting for SOMEONE with the balls to ask her straight up what her thoughts are on her band having finished half an album without one peep from her about it. To ask her "Why aren't you commenting? Your band is so excited and have songs they are super proud of and ready to give to the world. What are your plans for it? Fans clearly want one last masterpiece from this lineup, so why instead of recording a VOL 2 of 24KG aren't you more focused on helping finish what your bandmates so clearly want?" INSTEAD - all we get are the same freakin questions she's answered over and over and over and over and over again. Someone needs to step up and ask some real questions. Aside from that - I actually enjoy entertaining the idea that she secretly recorded material for the album during their winter break (as someone previously suggested). It's 99% improbable but a part of me likes indulging that tiny little 1% chance. |

As much of a stir it caused, the Playboy interview Mick did a few years back may seem like the last really honest piece of journalism associated with this band. Was it part of a larger ploy to get them on the road? yeah probably, but at least Mick had some balls...and his frustration with Stevie I totally understand now, after these recent events. This band dodges a major bullet with John's cancer and then the crazy fortunate return of Christine and Stevie still can't decide if she wants to be part of the band in the fullest sense - totally baffles me.

Well, then, she needs to do something about it. Become part of it. Sneezing on Lindsey and doing everything in her power to piss him off is clearly making her all the more endearing to him. "I feel left out of the sandbox. I bet they'd all like me if I acted even bitchier and kicked Lindsey in the balls."

Stevie and Lindsey have always had a love/hate relationship. Any tension that currently exists between them is just par for course; when has it ever not been that way? But, being that is the endgame for the band, and likely her last association with Lindsey, it's very disheartening she seems to be playing this power card.
It's credible to assume that Lindsey and Christine could pull off the final Fleetwood Mac album sans Stevie. Yet in terms of their legacy, Stevie plays a significant role in it. Because of this ridiculously massive tour the band has undertaken, millions of people have become reacquainted with the most universal configuration of Fleetwood Mac. For them to reappear, absent of one of their most signature figures, it would be a huge, confounding let down. Now that Stevie realizes she isn't immortal, she seems to have a fire in her to work more expediently to accomplish more. She doesn't have the luxury of time anymore. It's unfeasible to allow another decade to go by before producing another album/project. The efficient process Dave took to produce 24 Karat Gold, showed her that it's possible to do more in less time. It seems, perhaps Stevie is reluctant to commit to the Fleetwood Mac album; mostly concerned about the expected lengthy time of involvement. But since most of the album is already done, for her to contribute three or four songs, and sing harmonies is not unreasonable to ask for. You'd expect she would jump at this, as a final gesture, to record with Christine, and show gratitude to the band that made her rich and famous. She expresses such sentiment for the band, but where is the sentimental lady in her?
