Art Garfunkel rates FM

That legend Art Garfunkel has said this in an article where diffreent music personalities were asked how they rated the Rolling Stones.

"The greatest rock band ever is called the Beatles. They are in a completely different and superior league in my honest opinion. I would put the Stones somewhere eighth or ninth. I'd have to put Fleetwood Mac ahead of them -- they made better, more creative rock 'n' roll. There's a whole bunch of bands that make better, more creative, more varied rock 'n' roll. The Stones do what the Stones do."

Woo, I always knew he rocked lol! Meanwhile allow me to do what humility forbade of him - I put Simon and Garfunkel in the top 5!!!

Wow. This is cool! I always have liked Simon and Garfunkel...now I know why! lol j/k...I'd honestly have to say they're in my top ten though, at least!

Art Garfunkel was interviewed about the Rumours album on VH-1 (for their 100 greatest albums program) and he raved about them then, top guy!!

Of course they are.

And kudos to Mr. Garfunkel for recognizing FM's creativity over the years. IMHO the Stones are an amazing band, but not nearly as multi-dimensional as FM or a lot of other bands.

By the way, I've always been impressed by the Beatles' ability to transcend generations. I was at a dance club once, and the usual modern lifeless stuff had left the place, well . . . lifeless. No one was dancing, and the energy was totally flat. The DJ then put on "Twist and Shout," as maybe a campy thing to do. Well, the place just came alive and the dance floor was full in seconds. I'll never forget that.

If I remember correctly, the exact quote was "Rumours is simply the ultimate party album!"....!!!

I love Simon and GarFUNKel!! Art hit the nail on the head....regarding FM. The Stones' music does nothing for me. Neither do those bugs...LMAO!! But, let's not get started on THAT.

The music of FM is certainly more potent and exciting than lots of classic bands...IMO, anyways. Lindsey may not be the most charismatic person (in terms of his personality) on the planet, but DANG, he has ME transfixed when he plays...so PROPS to my MAN, LINDSEY!!
