Men like Wayne Newton don't even look like human beings anymore. Being old and wrinkled can't be worse than looking like that. Michele

This thread has gone to places I couldn't care less about.

Is she back in or not? If not, WTF?!?

I know, we have to wait until Jan. 9-ish at the earliest. Like anybody at that corporate gig gives a crap.

We aren't going to learn anything at that corporate gig.

Agreed, they are going to wait as long as possible.

Also, Stevie mentioning that Christine was on Safari seemed like a signal that there would be no news in January, like they wouldn't start any negotiations in January.

What exactly is a Safari? Is she going to South America or something?

Standard meaning is a trip to somewhere in Africa where you go out into the wild country to observe the wildlife. Very expensive trips that are very posh.. you sleep in hotel-quality tents set up for you by full staff and waiting for you when you come in from your daily observing with your guides... along with fabulously cooked meals, etc.

I know a number of people who have done them... tend to be "trips of a lifetime" for most average people.

Thank you! I honestly "sort of knew" but not to the extent that you describe.

Christine coming back and them doing a real, full band tour would be fantastic. Both Stevie and Lindsey are hesitant, especially Lindsey. I think it's a "you're either in the band or you're not" and there isn't the sentimentality I had hoped for. I am hoping that John's illness and maybe some hard lobbying from Mick will change minds.

I think they could go out and command higher ticket sales with Christine back. Money ALWAYS changes everything. We will see. I had hoped we would see her in Vegas but I doubt it.

I think it was taken at a press conference prior to the inauguation. Stevie wasn't there.

ETA, Billy would have been in a box set promo pic, if there had been one, since he was still in the band.

But why would there be Box Set posters/promo material in the background during the Clinton innauguration?

I'm guessing because it had just been released a few months earlier and they figured they could get some free publicity for it.
