Default Don Henley

Sooo, one of my guy friends (whom i'm pretty sure wants to be my boyfriend) knows how much I love the Eagles. Thus, he bought me Don Henley tickets for next week.

Anybody seen Henley solo live? Any good? Bad? Should I get my hopes up, or expect a snooze fest?

I know a lot of people saw him when he toured with Stevie a few years back, so thought someone could give me a preview...

Never been to a Don solo show, but I bet you're in for a treat.

I would try lookin' around Eagles fan boards as to try to see what to expect... have fun though!

Thanks I hope he plays some of his stuff with the Eagles. Some of his solo stuff is a little poppy for me (Boys of Summer, Dirty Laundry)... But it should be fun! Small venue too!

I saw him solo and it was boring. Plus I was with someone I didn't really like all that much, but he didn't interact with the audience at all, and didn't move around. I saw him with Stevie and have a dvd of the show and there is just such a difference in the energy level between the two shows. If you really like his music, then you won't care, but if you kind of like his stuff you won't become a bigger fan after seeing him live.

Go here and study up, Luke!
There are better things out there than the standard three and a half minute radio single.

Anyways, here's a review + set list of Wednesday night's show:
http://www.courant.com/entertainment...,6648413.story

Set list:
I Put a Spell on You
One of These Nights
September Song
New York Minute
Last Worthless Evening
It Don't Matter to the Sun
End of the Innocence
My Thanksgiving
The Heart of the Matter
Dirty Laundry
Boys of Summer
All She Wants to do is Dance
Life in the Fast Lane
Hotel California (encore)
Desperado (encore)

Sounds like you'll at least enjoy the Eagles songs even if you don't like Don's solo stuff.

Oh, I think you will enjoy it!

I saw him with Stevie in Philly and, yes, there was definitely a different energy to the Stevie set than the Don set, but I still enjoyed hearing his songs (solo and eagles) live....

It was a nice "sit down" show

I highlighted the only two songs I don't know. I wonder if September Song is the same cover Lindsey put on his Law and Order album? I saw Don in concert in the late 1990's. He is boring but his music is good and I agree with the other poster who said he is a good "sit down" show.

I've seen Don many times since 89 & I can say I really have enjoyed his shows. He does mix up his set I'd say more than the Eagles do but since its solo he does have more freedom than with the Eagles. I haven't seen hime live since '00 though but do have audio & love how he has started mixing up his sets even playing Eagles songs that he didn't sing on. Same with solo playing stuff I never thought he'd do. So enjoy & judge for yourself & let us know how it goes ok. Alot of artists don't interact with the audience ....to me Stevie doesn't much either (don't get me started on the set lists either again).....but to each his or her own. If you like the Eagles (which I do as well) than I think you'll like Don.....let me know ok.......enjoy yourself....... (I did see him with Stevie as well & they were great together.....)

Okay so I see that in his most recent show, he dropped "My Thanksgiving" and put in the Eagles' version of "Please Come Home for Christmas" -- I would think the Thanksgiving one would still be applicable, but idk

No, just a venue change:

"This show has been moved to the Warner Theatre. Tickets for the Patriot Center will NOT be honored at the Warner Theatre. Since your tickets were purchased via Internet or Phone Charge, you will be automatically refunded for the Patriot Center Tickets. In order to give Patriot Center ticket holders the best chance at tickets for the Warner Theatre show, we invite you to participate in a presale for Patriot Center ticket-holders only. This presale will run Tuesday Nov 3 from 10am - 10pm. You will need to enter the password HENLEY in the password box in order to access the presale."

They have both venues listed when you search for "Don Henley"
