I wouldn't be so pissed if she didn't say Christine coming back would change everything. They are getting older, this is their last chance to record. They cannot afford to wait another few years. Very pissed.

The interview happened during the FM break recently so she could do the Late Show. So her quote, puts it at same time now, next year:
"This isn't gonna be done until this time next year," Stevie tells ABC News Radio about the prospect of a new Mac album. "So, I don't know how I'm gonna feel in a year."

It may or may not be fair, but if SN refuses to do the album and it becomes a drama, there is a good chance that the backlash will go against her. Whether people agree or not, the most successful/famous artist tends to be the lightning rod, and Americans will see the rest of the band-members as the underdog/the victims of her solo career. It might be hard for her to persuade general/casual fans otherwise, because people tend to not sympathize as much with the successful solo artist in a legacy band.

I think she's always known this, and knowing that FM is the bigger draw, I think that's one reason she's probably always tried to maintain that balance, and always tried to be respectful/gracious to the band. I think her actions going forward, will further reflect that, in my opinion.

I can't imagine that she wouldn't do a new album with Fleetwood Mac. I was very surprised by her comments in the interview. I hope it's a misquote. Christine has come back after all these years and she was/is so happy to have her back. She talked during the Say You Will era about how much she missed Chris. Now that she is back, I can't believe she wouldn't go into the studio with them. Mick says most of the record is done and ready for her. How hard could it be after all these years. I think she will record with them. Maybe the thought of touring again is scaring her, but no one tours as much as she does.

I get where this is coming from, but to be fair to Stevie, she extended the IYD tour long past its expiration date because she truly believed in that album. As Mick said, she'd have to work a lot less in Fleetwood Mac and would make a lot more.

Very well written post.

When all is said and done, regardless of the reason why, she will probably record with Fleetwood Mac (which means I and other solo fans will miss any chance of a 24K Gold Tour ).

stevie isnt doing anything but fleetwood mac. shes not making another album or going on a solo tour, what do you expect her to record while she's on the road? hopefully we'll have an album out by Spring 2016. then that's it for the mac. maybe stevie and lindsey will make one last solo record and tour for it and mick will still do his blues stuff with rick but then we are done

Revised Plans

Tour America: September 30 - March 31
Tour Europe: May 30 - June 30
Tour Australia/NZ: July
Finish Album: August - November
America (again): October - February 16'
Stevie records "Songs from the Vault 2": March - July 16'
Songs from the Vault tour: July-September 16'

just hoping

The whole band is grabing the money. By the end of the tour, who knows how everyone's health will be. Any of them could be forced to change their plans. Her legacy consists of more than Fleetwood Mac. She deserves to finish out her last viable years any way she wants. Not stuck doing something that she doesn't want to do. I want her to be happy, healthy, and keep that spark we've seen in her the last few years.

Then she needs to leave and let them move on. As Mick told Lindsey many times, you're either in a band or you're not.

I doubt they'll do Aus. in April because I think they'll tour North America that month. I say they do multiple shows at Staples and MGM in April.
Aus/NZ tour in September?
