That song sang by Olivia Neutron Bomb in the 1970's, went something like
"I love you,
I honestly love you.
I honestly...love you."

So pretty. Especially the "if we both were born, in another place and time..." part.

Yes! You're making me want to listen to this now, but my husband would think I'd lost it if I cranked this right now...

there you are with yours
And here I am with mine
So I guess we'll just be leaving it at this

it was a very tender vocal, I think I remember getting a lump in my little 6-year old throat when I heard it as a kid.

I loved ONJ as a kid. Our basement was finished and had two poles(?) from floor to ceiling. I used to play Hopelessly Devoted to You on my record player and pretend I was her. Singing my little heart out as I held onto the pole like she did in Grease.

Well, who didn't do Grease? My sister and I totally wore out the album, we used to do little 'shows' in our backyard. The only song I was allowed to participate in were the Danny songs, but in truth I wanted to sing Hopelessly Devoted To You or Sandy's part in You're The One That I Want. We even made fake cigarettes to do the scene where she gets dressed up as the biker chick, LOL.
I had a portable phonograph, the kind that was like a suitcase and you could carry. Grease and the Saturday Night Fever album got much airplay.

Did you ever do backyard shows? Here's a controversial one we did: Donna Summer's famous 'Bad Girls' album. Picture THAT, a bunch of 9 year olds pretending to be hookers. We even made a fake streetlight for one of the girls to pose under, swinging her purse waiting for a John, LOL!!!!!

Girl, please. I was forever forcing my parents to watch my routines. I had my own show, aptly named "The Janet ___ Show." Starring...me. My younger brother was my sidekick. I was very bossy and made him do whatever I thought was necessary for the show.

I love your hooker story. Do you think this is all because of where we grew up? Are there others like us? lol

Me, all I know is that that wasn't the end - - -
It was just the beginning.

Oh, and we did Saturday Night Fever too! I forgot that. And Star Wars, and I think we did a whole 'Solid Gold' singing Andy Gibb, Debbie Boone and Air Supply, including Solid Gold dancers.

Maybe it's a Long Island thing, heehee. And no small wonder I turned out to be my mother's only gay son. My two brothers were busy playing street hockey and stickball. LOL

FINALLY! (chiliD saves that day) Those who are not pre-1975 Fleetwood Mac fans need to hear this instrumental, along with Danny Kirwan's "Sunny Side of Heaven". While I'm not going to question the choices some of you list, you may want to check into the back yard of the band forum you post, you may be surprised.

For years one of my favorite Beatle songs was "Sun King" from "Abbey Road". I would certainly list it in the beautiful category. It was years later I learned that "Sun King" came from Fleetwood Mac's "Albatross". Just a thought.

"If You Leave Me Now" - Chicago
"Hello" - Lionel Richie
"I'm Not In Love" - 10cc

An unusual choice for a beautiful song, but also an unusual choice for a Ravel composition. Have you heard the final section of Ravel's "Ma mere l'oye" ballet music suite? It's called "The Enchanted Garden" (or "The Fairy Garden").
