Quit shouting. You wrote the verses to be soft and airy, for the climax at the end. Sing it that way. And I dont like the way she ends long notes anymore. Abrupt ends, as she turns away from the mic. Choppy.

" ... the leather leg things she's wearing ..." - I find these to be very interesting - in my opinion it adds a sort of goth edge to Stevie's costume - an effect much the same as the style of boots worn by Rene Russo in "The Thomas Crown Affair" in a key scene. Stevie apparently finds the shoes comfortable. From my vantage point at the edge of the stage, the leggings were at eye level for me and I have to confess I did spend more than a couple minutes trying to figure out how the leggings attached to everything! Regardless, Stevie was a chatty, enthusiastic performer in San Jose for which I happily witnessed.

Imo, I think the days of soft and expressive are pretty much over for Stevie. Years of abuse have all but ruined her chords. There's no vocal coach that can cure that. I think that inspite of smoking, toking, coking, nodes and sinus damage, she is lucky to be able to sing at all. She can't make a sound that she can keep on pitch if she doesn't put some major wind behind it. I listen to her 70's demo's and just wish..... Sometimes I wonder if she waits and gets a decadron shot for "important" or sentimental venues. It would explain her elevated mood and vocal stamina.....
In any case I will love her and listen to her music until I exhale my last breath (drama!)

those things are very cool. At least Stevie has recogonized the fact that the platform reeboks are indeed...ugly. Very ugly. Hence the need for the leather leg things. She's trying to make them as un-ugly as possible and is succeeding, for the most part. I would think they would need to be able to be removed fairly easily in case she wants to slip back into the boots.
