And on the anniversary of his death he places yet
another album on Billboard's Charts.

Elvis - Way Down In The Jungle Room at #6 on the Country Chart.

Earlier this year I found a dresser drawer of magazines and stuff behind the furnace at my parents' house and among the contents were a stack of immaculate newspapers on Elvis' death including that tabloid with his casket open and the Rolling Stone. Serious flashback material. Memphis Recording Service has put out some very excellent book/CD combos and the Louisiana Hayride recordings set is almost ground zero of the birth of Rock & Roll!

Color me impressed. MRS has put out some great Elvis releases.
But sadly I don't own any. Though I have some of the material
of course. I do own all his master takes and many of the alternates.

I too have many of the news paper clippings following his death.
And that same National Enquirer Coffin photo. I believe they got
one of his cousins to sneak the camera in to take that photo. One
of my aunts almost took me to Memphis that week. I wish I had
of gone.
