Ohhh...lessee ...

1) the fact that they release such fine albums so frequently

2) their lineup stability

3) the way they perfectly re-create the studio versions of songs in a live setting

4) the trenchant political commentary in their lyrics

5) their complete & utter devotion to their fan base

Honorable Mention

6) their totally bitchin official Web site

7) their cheap concert ticket prices

1) The Rhythm Section (Mick Fleetwood & John McVie)...tough to beat

2) The guitarists (Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, Jeremy Spencer, Bob Welch, Bob Weston, Lindsey Buckingham, Rick Vito, Billy Burnette, Dave Mason)...quite a list.

3) The keyboards (Christine McVie)...plays what fits the song, no more, no less.

4) The songs...with a few rare exceptions, they're all great.

5) The soap opera...from the trials & tribulations of Peter Green's "freak out" to the revolving door of members and cancelled tours to the litigation against their former manager to the failed intra-band romances to the reconciliations & retirements. What's next?

1. The quality of music they've produced.

2. The real feeling - living, breathing, crying, joyful, raging feeling - infused into the songs.

3. Distinct and vibrant personalities. With a few exceptions, most singer/songwriters in particular have had distinct musical (and theatrical) personalities on stage and on the records that saturates their songs. It's a real band with interesting personalities that interact in interesting ways without being self-concious about it. Additionally, as individuals, each is an equal in terms of speaking about the band. There is no singular mouthpiece for this group; they all jump into the fray and express their views, even when their views are contradictory.

4. The difference and range they show from studio to live performance

5. The range of musical styles

Thumbs up For me...

1º The songs, of course. As ChiliD said, with few exceptions, they are all great.

Rumours

3º Their first two female members... they gave the world two divas: Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie.

4º The soap opera of course!!! Beginning with Buckingham/Nicks, and having their last chapter at The Dance... but it's not over yet!!!

5º The great musicianship that all of the line-ups have been able to have... I think there is no exception on this, even the Time incarnation sounded very well.

Song of the moment - Brown Eyes

Arrow My list..

1. LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM - If not for him..I would not be posting here right now.

2. The music - The songs are amazing...with a few exceptions..like chilid said. They make you laugh, cry, sing-along, dance, smile, air guitar...or is that just me?

3. Unique style - Stevie's whole persona on stage, especially back in the day....Lindsey and his changing styles of hair and clothes as well....Christine with her British aire of flair (LOL), John and his laid-back self...and Mick....the crazy nut of a drummer....they are all so unique!!

4. Interesting lives - or if you want to say...soap opera...okay...from 1969 to the present, all the members have such a wierd story, it seems...

5. Rising after adversity - Stevie mostly, but they all seem to have their problems/issues like us regular joes and that makes em more "touchable".
