Default Demos

So in our locked down world, and being by myself
I have spent the afternoon listening to Fmac demos..
Fabulous
My favourite......The Chain.
I just love it..
Some of them are better than the released song in a raw way....

Smile At You piano demo, with bass and guitar rocks so good!

I do like Not Make Believe demo more than the Bonus Disc version. I don't know if that's Mick drumming on the NMB demo, but it's so good

There's lot of demos that deserve even a different thread! There's lot of cuts that are amazing, but were not released on the latest extended/remastered editions.

- From Lindsey's side, you have Brushes, and there's some interesting versions from Mirage and TITN. Can't Go Back, Book Of Love, Oh Diane, the last two on its instrumental versions, and Big Love. On the bootleg of Gift Of Screws, you have a nice demo of Say Goodbye, even better than the SYW one, because it's a little bit slower and doesn't have that strange percussion and SN voice.

- From Chris' side, there's a nice instrumental version of Over & Over. The cuts of Love In Store are great too! And also the Hold Me with a longer piano intro. The demo of Only Over You released on the expanded edition of Mirage with a different start is simply wonderful, just like Wish You Were Here with a longer solo of Lindsey. And finally, the demo of You And I, Part II where she sings is really rare and great.

- From SN' side, my favourite version of Silver Springs is a demo recorded in November, 1976, with an extended final. She had a good version of That's Alright where Chris' voice can be listended better, and a longer Straight Back, that is about 6 minutes.

I’d like to dip back into the batch of demos from the first three or so solo albums, many of which are some of my favorites ever:
  • Belle Flower
  • The Crystal
  • All the King’s Horses
  • Docklands
  • Fall from Grace
  • Friend from Yesterday
  • Jimmy, Come Back
  • Oh, Baby
  • Old Fashioned
  • Rose Garden
