I was so so happy to read about this, and watch the video online! Christine just has to come back for this tour. I just think the timing of her going to Hawaii and seeing Stevie in LA right before the tour starts is just, well...because she is seriously thinking of re-joining. She's had 15 years to take this trip and why choose now when the group are about to embark on a massive world tour?

If this show (line up etc) was brought to England I'd be all over it!

...just sayin!

Why would Mick have been forced (so it seemed) to confirm in the UK press that she would never be coming back, after he initially made those ambiguous comments about her in January? It felt as though she had seen his interviews and told him personally to set the record straight.

He was told to stop asking. Since then, he hasn't ruled out a return. He's just stopped bugging her. He said it's got to be her decision.

But there are two different issues here. She is not going to tour. Whether he knows that or not, I think it's pretty clear. It doesn't mean she won't record and my guess is she wants to record, actually.

I agree that she won't tour, though on this week's experience I wouldn't now rule out her doing Don't Stop at a London gig later this year, though I still think it unlikely.

I keep saying it, and it's against what I would love to happen, but I just don't see her recording with them. Their priority right now is rehearsing a four-person lineup tour. They will be onstage without Christine within the next couple of months. Recording of any sort, with all the time that it takes, can't happen whilst that is the priority. Christine will fly back to England in a few weeks I would have thought that will be that.

Recording takes a matter of days and there would be no better time to do it than when they're all together anyway.

I don't see her not doing something with them and I've been saying that ever since Mick said she was coming to Los Angeles.

This is what Mick said as quoted by the Telegraph:

Quote:

McVie initially responded in the negative, prompting Mick Fleetwood to publically say that he might be able to convince her to change her mind. Now, Mick, speaking with The Telegraph, says he's been asked to cease his appeals to her:

"I've had to agree to stop asking her," he said, according to the paper. He did not elaborate on what convinced him to do so.

"We miss her and love her, and I hope I'm a part in persuading her to return," Mick told The Sun just last week.

Ok, so recording can take days, but that's assuming she has written songs for them to sing and that they like them and think the band can add something to them. I just think it's fantasy (albeit nice), given her most recent protestations in Mojo and comments in The Times (which didn't sound like she was returning in any capacity) and Mick's "no, no, no" in the latter when asked if she was coming back. He clearly said she is part of their past now.

Yes, obviously, someone said something to Mick because he said he'd had to agree not to ask her. But it didn't stop him from hoping that she'd still return and thinking he could be part of persuading her. Even after the reprimand, he was still talking about her returning.

She has loads of songs from 10 years ago that haven't been used (and beyond, because she talked about all the songs she had stored up on the Best Buy CD in 1997 too). But it doesn't have to be one of her songs. She can sing on some of their songs. Just like Stevie came and sung on Lindsey's, following 4 days in his bunker.

Or maybe Stevie has a song Christine can sing on.

The timing of her "visit" is so strange that it doesn't seem like wishful thinking to imagine she's doing something with them. It will seem much odder if nothing comes of it, in my view. You said they are concentrating on rehearsing, well exactly. She knew they'd be busy when she left England. Why come now, if there wasn't a specific reason?

As far as England goes, it's such a long time between now and then that I don't think her performing at the MACC increases the likelihood she'd actually perform in England, not if nothing's afoot. Being back home again for 7 months, out of the limelight once more, would probably make her disinclined to return to the stage in September.

However, if they have longterm plans and have been discussing doing something together, then I can see them doing concerts in England. If not this tour, then next year.

I was wondering if she made an appearance in England if it would be more likely on the first night or the last, but actually, if she does something, she might as well do all 3 nights and they can record them and just take the best moments from each night.

The MACC showed that she wouldn't be limited to playing on Don't Stop. If she knows the song, she can play on any of them. Obviously, she can play on songs from 1975 on as easily as she did Rattlesnake Shake. So, if she appears in England, I wouldn't think it would be just for a Don't Stop cameo.

I just hope that once she gets to Los Angeles we still hear about what she's doing while she's here. Then, I guess the next time we hear about her it will be from the others saying that she has returned to the UK.

I hope you are right, though I'm still not convinced.

I thought the timing of her visit was not "strange", but convenient:-

A. Because Mick would be in the UK and gallantly offered to escort her, given her fear of flying.

B. Because Mick has just opened a new restaurant and, knowing Christine's love of cookery, he wanted her to see it.

C. Because if she wanted to see the others then rehearsal time would mean they'd all be together then and she could kill four birds with one stone.

D. It has been exceptionally cold and snowy in England for the last couple of months, probably the coldest and snowiest it has been in a long time (maybe even since she moved back) and Mick thought a trip to some warmth would do her good. I think he said as much in one of the interviews.

E. The deaths of both Bobs has made her want to see Mick and John in person particularly, reminder as those events were of the passage of time.

She could have come back with them after their European tour when they would all be on vacation. I see this as a working vacation, but time will tell. Michele

maybe she can hang around rehearsals and do Don't Stop as a surprise guest first couple of shows in a month from now

Me too. But can you offer me one over 10 minutes?

I don't have enough hats to eat to cover that eventuality!
