Haven't had a chance to watch the video of "Don't Stop" yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

I completely respect Christine's desire to never tour again (if that is indeed how she still feels), but I desperately want her to record some new music with the band. It just isn't the same without her.
I bet stevie is salavating. She wants her back bad.

You're welcome.
No disrespect to FM, or the fans who worship the current band...but just seeing her up there, makes me realize why FM has been the soundtrack to my life. And it also makes me realize why the current incarnation just simply bores me to tears, for the most part.
Christine is the heart and soul of the band.

And of course I've always known that. But seeing these pics of her, is practically bringing me to tears. Reminding me of what's missing...

Ageed, It's not the same at all without Christine. I'm just amazed that we still have a Fleetwood Mac after all these years.

If Christine agreed to make one more Fleetwood Mac album Stevie would agree to participate in an instant. The problem still could be greedy/crazy Mick who ruined the chances for Christine's full participation in the last one by demanding that she tour as well" in case she had a hit on the album"

So perhaps Christine has been practicing playing the song in a lower key intentionally with the thought that she would eventually be playing it with Stevie and Lindsey? Although she could probably play the original DS in her sleep, playing it on the piano in a different key is tricky; it definitely took some practice.

Stevie & Lindsey tried Don't Stop in a lower key on the 1st (maybe a few more) date on the Unleashed tour. It didn't sound right I guess, so it went right back up to E for the rest of the tour, and yeah it does sound a bit strained now and again.

I remember that! Somehow they managed to pull it off... but judging by Stevie's recent solo performance of "Don't Stop"... I think a key drop is necessary. It starts at 8:00

But this one IS lowered. I checked it.

I thought that was odd, too.

Either way, if Christine played it on a midi keyboard, she could just lower the notes and still play it the way she's always played it.

D is actually technically "easier" to play in than E, anyway, being that it has 2 sharps rather than 4.

But regardless, I don't think it'd be that much of a learning curve. And like you said, she could easily transpose it with the push of a button and keep on playing it the same as always.

I don't think anyone ever really said that Christine could not record with the group because she would not tour with SYW. I don't think she was pressured to tour either.

I think the recording idea just fell apart, for whatever reason. The band put up the story about the reason they didn't record with her was because then people might expect to hear her when they went to the concert as a cover for whatever the real reason she did not record was, just like they said that stuff about Stevie Crow not wanting to rehearse on mother's day. They put a diplomatic face on things. But I never bought that as the reason.

I think they would have loved to draw attention to their album by having Christine's sound on there, if everything had worked out, which is probably why Steal Your Heart Away was on there, even though we'd already had it twice before.
