Stages of grief.
While most of us raced through the first stage of denial.
Many of us have heavily focused on anger. As I start to transition out of it (one last FU Stevie and Mick). Since we are not part of the band there isn’t much bargaining going on. Although a few are hanging onto the reunion of the 5 next tour idea. The rest of us will transition into the depression stage soon. So for those of you ready to cry...... Here you go https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SPhedT6lHzY |

In this heartfelt recording taken in the days before computerized "auto tuned" live vocals, excessive backup musicians, and hasty firings--you can hear the magic with all its imperfection. It makes your heart yearn for a simpler time. #WhoAreYouPeople? Last edited by WatchChain; 05-07-2018 at 07:59 PM.. |

The best of our days are gone. Even a reunion can’t bring this back.

Beautiful blending of their voices. I've always loved this song and still do. Sad AF.
The problem with the stages of grief is they don't follow a linear path and we can waffle between stages. Some stay in one stage for a long time. I go back and forth. When I hear live I'm So Afraid or GYOW on the FM channel I'm hopping mad. Then they play The Chain and my heart drops down to the floor. They played Storms this afternoon and that was depressing. Last night I listened to the EP cause I haven't heard it in a pretty long time. He wrote Sad Angel for Stevie. They did Without You from the early days. I believe It takes Time is a song about Stevie. Only 4 songs with Miss Fantasy but it was not fun to listen to. They don't owe me anything but I can't help feeling robbed. It's just a feeling. We could have had a tour with the 5 fireflies, a LB tour and a proper final chapter. I'll probably dwell on "what could have been". I just love the unique mix of Lindsey, Stevie and Christine so much. Even certain bass lines or drum fills that I like remind me that I can enjoy the music even if it feels weird and it definitely does. |

Given how this all went down at the twilight of the band's existence, a reunion is now highly unlikely. Truly sad AF, we must accept that the five fireflies are no more. .

The lyrics to this illustrate why it's SO FREAKING WRONG that Lindsey was fired.
To survive, do it right You believe in the five To survive the distance, everyone fights Everyone fights And the fire flies This was written when Stevie cared more about the quality of the music than about whether or not someone was making her "stressed." I fear Stevie may have gotten to the point where she is only happy when she is surrounded by sycophants. I hope that's not the case, though, and that this was just a bad decision made because she's having a hard time dealing with Tom Petty's death. Last edited by sodascouts; 05-08-2018 at 05:19 PM.. |
