Yes. I can't listen to '80s Heart anymore because that's what the love of my life and I would always listen to when we drove around in my convertible . I'm more bitter about this than I will admit! I can't listen to the Rumours version of Silver Springs anymore because of him either. I'll also never be able to watch Gone With The Wind again because of him. We had a particularly heartbreaking exchange while watching that movie (my ex was an alcoholic and opioid addict).

I don't listen to Garbage anymore because of some twit kid I dated a long time ago.

Oh Louie. that's unfortunate. Those are 3 great things, 80s Heart especially!

To flip it round, has anyone lost the girl/guy but kept listening to artists/albums that they introduced them to? This happened to me with John Hiatt.

Yes! I would have never listened to Madonna's Ray Of Light had it not been for an ex of mine. I adore that album to this day. The ex introducing me to Ray Of Light ended up opening the door to me listening to more Madonna. I doubt I'd have ever bought Bedtime Stories had I not dated that guy... which is probably one of my top 10 albums.

Ray Of Light is indeed a class album. Nice random call on Bedtime Stories too - an often forgotten Madonna album. I love Take A Bow, Human Nature and Forbidden Love.

I actually think Erotica may be the most underrated one though, lost as it became in all the hoopla of the Sex book. It has Rain, Bad Girl (GREAT video), Deeper and Deeper and the title track. Something To Remember (her ballads album) is one of my favourites. I just don't like much of her stuff since Music at all.

I'll Remember is excellent. That whole Something To Remember album is pretty flawless. If it had Bad Girl on it it would be perfect. I propose an updated release that includes Bad Girl, Secret and The Power Of Goodbye. Of course I could just do this myself...

No, but I have turned about 3 exes into Stevie fanatics, and they still are as far as I know , including my current future ex

I'm just spouting off here, but I wanted to say: Don't let the past ruin your favorite music for you! You can always find new memories to go with those songs.
