Another In The Meantime review
Here's another review of In The Meantime. This one is from Australia, Shout Magazine.
Sound Effects with Ralph Morrow In The Meantime Christine McVie (BMG) McVie may no longer be with the touring entity of Fleetwood Mac but as the liner notes here remind us, “songwriters don’t just shut up shop.” In this case we should be grateful, as some lovely low-key pop is to be found here. From the brisk and fresh start with Friend, this is an album made in an obviously relaxed manner but it also exudes a new found enthusiasm for the genre. Perhaps it comes down to being based in England rather than LA that has given McVie back the edge that was a large part of the Mac’s soul. Much of the material here you can imagine Lindsey Buckingham singing on but the focus is all on what McVie wants and needs for a healthy solo existence and not part of a 70s supergroup entity continuously touring for the boomers. She has had her time in the brightest of spotlights and now it's just time to sit back and write great pop music. RM Last edited by macfan 57; 10-25-2004 at 06:14 AM.. |
