I've never heard of this fear. Are you also scared of the oompa loompas?

I've never seen that film either. Yes, people get on my case about that.

See it. And I heard all the time as a kid how muck I looked like the Charlie kid, so I have a strange affection for the flick. Not a scary moment in the film. Of course, I enjoyed The Exorcist and The Omen as a child.

Maybe. Someday I've never seen The Exorcist either. I grew up with older cousins who liked all the horror flicks and a mother who has every book written by Stephen King and Dean Koontz. I still remember the first time I saw IT. I hate clowns. I was always waiting for some gigantic blood bubble to come spouting up the drain and explode on me

Never saw "It". The only King movie ever to scare me was "Misery" - and that was just for a moment.

Looking back in retrospect, the only scary portion of IT are the scenes with Tim Curry dressed as the clown. Other than that, it's rather lame.

Misery---Kathy Bates...she played a great roll but yes, that movie had a few moments.

And to think, Roseanne turned the part down.

Although I don't think she would have been as convincing despite the fact that she is rather psycho, she probably still kicks herself for that decision.

Hey, if she wanted to scare people, she should have taken the part in "Striptease".

I saw that on TV when I was nine and I was so scared I cried. After that movie, I became petrified of clowns.

HPntion]I can watch "Empire of the Sun" over and over and not get sick of it. The kid (Christian Bale, the new Batman) was fantastic and I think he was Oscar material.[/QUOTE]

Okay now you've piqued my interest and all you had to do was mention the name Christian Bale! Have I mentioned that I love him?

He is an amazing actor!!!! Every role he's played has been stellar, except maybe for Laurel Canyon, but that wasn't his fault, it's just a bad movie.

He nailed the character of Patrick Bateman in American Psycho.

I liked Laurel Canyon. It could've been MUCH better, but it was good for what it was, a smutty movie with lots of sex.

He is a fantastic actor, though. Have you seen the movie "The Land of Faraway"? That's another that he made when he was a kid and it's a guilty pleasure of mine. And I can't wait to see him as Batman, though nothing will beat the scene in Psycho where he was running after the hooker bare ass and wielding a chainsaw.

I know this is sick but....he looked AMAZING in that movie, bare-assed and all.

I hadn't heard he was slated to play Batman!! WTF!?!?!?!?

Your're right about "The Land of Faraway," it is a guilty pleasure and worth the watch!
