Default Vetiver covers "Save Me a Place"

You may be familiar with Devendra Banhart, and the little "Freak Folk" (like Psych folk, and mostly SF based) genre he is associated with, but I haven't noticed any mention on the Ledge yet of the cover his band Vetiver did of "Save Me a Place". I am more a fan of Vetiver than of Mr. Banhart - on his own he loses me a little- but I really love Vetiver's first record, and I think I may pick up this EP, "between" with the Fleetwood Mac cover.

Review on pitchforkmedia.com and here is another review with a sample:Brainwashed

I also noticed recently that Joanna Newsom, who sometimes plays shows with Vetiver performed at a party, in an FM cover band.

I played this cover on the radio a while back, it's not bad. Nothing earth-shattering, but a very nice low-key folky rendition of the song.

Yes, it doesn't stray far from the original. One of the reviewers called it a "campire strum" which I think is a pretty good description.
Where do you DJ? (I am always looking for more stations to play, if I can get them online)

Thanks for the heads-up! I love Vetiver and Devendra.

I don't anymore since I'm in a different hemisphere, but you can listen to the Northwestern University radio station online at www.wnur.org

It's often a lot of pretentious, unlistenable crap during the day when the rock shows are on, but late at night are the freeform shows where the cool kids let loose. The Banana Hotdog, every Wednesday night/Thursday morning from 2:00-3:30 AM central time, is probably the greatest hour and a half of radio of all time. (The jazz shows in the morning are supposed to be pretty good too, probably because it's mostly adults DJing as opposed to hipster college kids.)
