In the end, he is not commenting in any way on the music. He also really is not even saying the cover pic is not artistic. He is just saying the cover is scary, which it is

Actually, we talked earlier about the look not going with the more "rocking" sound of the album, because we had some descriptions of him here as looking like an old man with dementia. But actually, now I think the look kind of goes with the crazed parts of the title track Gift of Screws. Rather than old and slow, the look could be simmering and watchful. There's almost a criminal, "it's a plea you're copping" aspect to it, which implies its own sort of action, albeit evil action. I can look at it today and think: he's not old and immobile, so much as crouching, keeping a low profile, just before he's ready to pounce. I don't think it is out of step with some of the album's tracks.

Of course, I'm not exactly sure what Kristen was trying for.

I kinda wish he wasn't a Stevie and Mac fan tbh.

I'm certainly not offended by the cover, but I think the word "scary" is quite a good word for it! Shall I just say that it's not the most flattering pic I've seen of him (at his age) it's possibly one of the worst and does him no favours.He's a good looking chappie, but what a shame he used that particular pic for what may well be, a jolly good (and most welcome) album Maybe he could have asked us to vote on it, I'm sure we would have come up with something else...maybe next time...

i agree, the cd actually made the nebraska furniture mart ad here & i'm sorry i loves me some lindsey~ the pic is not flattering at all~ he looks tired & frazzled & his hair is a wild mess~

Here's my opinion on the cover...

It's not very flattering for him, he looks way better than that. It's very basic, which we ususally see from him, a little scary and sort of ho hum at the same time...

Hope the music is not the same...
