Default Ricky

The b-side track Ricky came on my iPod today and I had to crank up the volume. I always loved this Mc Vie/ Buckingham track from the Tango sessions. It made me think of the sessions that Lindsey and Christine have been working on. It would have been nice if there was a leak or two.😁

It's a nice instrumental track, one of those obscure numbers that I wish would be pulled out of obscurity and featured on compilation -- a box set or rarities album.

I believe this was the backing track of what was going to be Fleetwood Mac's version of Stevie's song Juliet.

I love when CM and LB both work together. They both understand music.

This song has always been roundly panned in the FM community, but I just love it. I think it's so fun, and it always improves my mood when I hear it. The only problem is I forget about it for long stretches since it's not an album cut.

You're on the right track, but you're thinking of the instrumental track "Book of Miracles."

I love the exotic 80s flavor of this track.

I love that track. Love the production. Love the drums and I wonder if Lindsey did them.

Yes. correct. I am addressing the track "Book of Miracles."

In its origin, it started out as a prospect Stevie song for the Tango album. As evidence, there is a rudimentary Fleetwood Mac demo of Juliet. The instrumental track was prepped, but before Stevie got around to laying down the vocals, the song was cut from the roster. So, it was renamed from a phrase in the song, and released as a b-side.

A few years later, Stevie recorded the song Juliet for her solo album, consulting her "Book of Miracles." It would have been a good song Tango album. It's one of my favorite songs on her Other Side of the Mirror. It was one the highlight performances of the show I attended on her tour. Soon after, she inexplicably dropped it from the set.
