I thought they sounded great overall -- Christine has definite pitch issues though I don't know if that's whatever in-ear monitors they do or don't have on the show. Anyone who's been to the actual live shows -- has there been this issue?

The You Tube videos from their actual concerts indicate that the band is in good form and that Christine, for the most part, is singing well. Keep in mind, none of the vocalists are in top-shape anymore. If there is someone paying the big bucks to see a 40 something year old band sing perfectly, you will be disappointed. I mean Lindsey has not been singing well for years (just listen to his strained vocals at times!). But they are all performing well and still put on one hell of a show!
And the tour is one week old. Their voices need several shows/weeks to get in top form. This tour is going to be killer. I thought they sounded great in MNPLS. By the time they play LA, PHX?...wow. Second leg will be great too.

The Chain rehearsal at 6am in the morning

I actually thought she sounded LESS off key than in the clips I've seen.

She definitely can't hit the high notes, but I thought on the Today performance it sounded like she'd adjusted her singing to better fit her current voice… it wasn't every note spot on, but neither was Stevie

My mom and I literally flipped out when we saw this commercial about a new Chicago area show during the break after Little Lies.

Here is also Mick announcing it during the show:

After watching the interviews, reitch issues. I totally forgot that this is a 7 AM east coast thing. They've been on west coast time and have "work" typically 8 PM - 11 PM which means they're probably typically up til 2-3 at the very earliest each night. So big time adjustment for one.

Now having attempted to sing first thing in the morning vs after warming up at night and all that in recording in my 20s... let alone literally out in the cold in NY AM with 70 year olds, well, it's quite obvious what occurred just from a psychical perspective. I know my vocals can't stretch well and I have pitch issues as well as sustain/control issues just from the tightness in my throat and there's not much you can do about it under those kinds of conditions. It's amazing that they sounded as good as they did, honestly with that kind of strain.

Now that I've thought about that, nothing to worry about regarding their quality overall and at shows.

You went to the Today Show? Any stories? Does the band interact with the audience or do they just go on, do their soundcheck, leave, come back two hours later, do the live gig, and then leave? Was the trip worth it?

Everyone doubting them should look back to 2004, their last Today Show appearance. Watch that version of Go Your Own Way...it was awful. They sounded much better this time around. We thought Christine sounded pretty good on tv...a few pitch issues, but she was still pretty much on key for the most part.
