Default Christine on American Bandstand

I just posted this video on YouTube. It's Chris on American Bandstand in 1984. The audio & video are slightly off because of the lesser video quality. Not that it actually matters since the performance was lip synched.

Thanks for posting this.

I kind of like the audio and video being a bit out.

I did miss the Loev dancers though

Is that the future ex-Mr. Christine McVie on synth?

Edit: Nevermind. I watched the rest of it, and yes, it was the future ex-Mr. Christine McVie on synth.

Yes, that's Eddy. And it's odd--all the keyboard closeups are his...

By the way, does anyone have a link to the lip-synched video Christine did on Solid Gold for Love Will Show Us How?

Tony, I have 3 video clips from Solid Gold...Got A Hold On Me, Love Will Show Us How & So Excited. The video quality is pretty bad, worse than the American Bandstand footage. Would you like me to post that on You Tube too?

It's weird that, at the time, they were in the middle of their tour, yet they sync the performance of these songs. Maybe American Bandstand wasn't rigged up for live playing. Besides, the nature of the show was to highlight the smooth & sometimes bland patina overlying the studio sound of a pop radio hit.

Who's the guy on guitar (not Sharp)? I don't remember him on the tour.

The other guitarist was Steven Bruton.

He didn't tour, did he? Why is he at American Bandstand in the middle of the tour -- especially given that it's a lip-sync performance?

Exactly- everyone who appeared on American Bandstand lipsynched.

He did tour. Billy Burnette played the extra guitar on her earlier performances...The Video Album & those Solid Gold appearances. Bruton replaced Billy for her later tour.

How weird. I don't remember him at all. I only went to the show at the Amphitheatre in Universal City. Was he there, too?
