It's up now, just takes me a few minutes. This is fairly serious and I wanted to do it correctly.

God, talk about Sophie's Choice.
I went with Gold Dust Woman and Rhiannon in the end, but I really love them all.

I didn't even have to think. Gold Dust Woman and Silver Springs are perfect to me. Silver Springs most definitely so (duh). It probably sounds incredibly dull to say so, but I adore the romantic (or anti-romantic) "play" constructed within the confines of Silver Springs. It leads you into all manner of emotional journeys and thought processes as you try to understand the Protagonist's (Doesn't neccassarily have to be Stevie though one would think so) relationship and how it went wrong. And most importantly, who's taken their place and offered something they couldn't live up to.

This was difficult for me, because I think all the first 5 of them are equally great, Rhiannon was their first hit and it's just magical, but in the end I had to go with Silver Springs & Gold Dust Woman, they are all pretty haunting songs.

Holy crap! Well I'm copying you because I voted first, but this is freaky. Great minds think alike, what can I say?

Oh dearie me this was difficult. I love them all.
I have to go with... Rhiannon. And. Gypsy. No. Silver Springs. No. Gold Dust Woman. No... Rhiannon and Gypsy. They need the votes more.

Well, this was excruciating-- I love almost all of these dearly. Silver Springs was the immediate choice, though. It gets to me in a way I'm not sure any other song does: "You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loved you." So beautiful and haunting, and so completely Stevie.
Which left me choosing between Gold Dust Woman and Rhiannon. I went with GDW (which, I guess, makes me a trend follower), but not an easy choice. My favorite Stevie song of all time, though, is Storms. Last edited by mezzoforte; 12-05-2010 at 07:37 PM.. |

wow lots of responses! Great! This whole thing is exciting and interesting. Looks like songs from the Rumours album are doing pretty well, since YMLF is in the lead for Christine along with GYOW for Lindsey.
Don't forget to check out Christine and Peter's noms on the Pre-Rumours forum. Last edited by MacShadowsBall; 12-05-2010 at 07:46 PM.. |

I voted "Gypsy" (only) but now wish I had thrown one to "Rhiannon." Anyway, this marks a radical shift on my part to where, for some reason, I may now consider "Gypsy" to be Stevie's masterpiece.

Gold Dust Woman and Sara was my vote, even though I wish Storms was there
