Default "Thrown Down".....grown on you?

I added this song to a tape so i could play it in the car (sorry, don't have a cd player in there just yet!) and ever since then i've actually looked forward to hearing it.....it's grown on me. it sounds different in the car than it does on the computer speakers. Anyone else?

Well, I liked it from the start, but I've grown to love it even more. The only part that bugged me at first were the backing vocals. I felt like they were too high or something and took the edge off of the song. But I've warmed to them and now love the song.

I've got that one in my MP3 player rotation for when I jog. It's been there for almost 2 months and hasn't left it yet, so I'd say it's a keeper for me.

I've only heard it once, so I can't really say. Don't like it that much.

yes, if you get a cd player you'll find that besides the better sound quality, you can also play it repeatedly which means that without rewinding the tape back each time, you get to listen to the song more times and not getting pissed by the pressing of too many buttons and by the fact you can't find the exact point where the song begins.
for example, if my drive to school takes an hour and a half, i can get there after listening to it 20 times or so.

It definitely has grown on me, although I liked it from the start. I think that the CD will reveal a lot of the subtle production qualities that are hidden in this relatively poor quality mp3 that we have.

Thrown Down is just another example, at least for me, of how many of Stevie's songs really need time to grow on you. When I think back to how many songs I DIDN'T like, it's astounding how many have acquired my prase. The latest I think was Doing the Best that I Can which I couldn't stand for the longest time. Now it's one of my favorite OSOTM songs. I've admitted I didn't like the TISL outtake of Thrown Down, but with that catchy guitar background and more powerful voice (at least on the chorus and the end when they harmonize), I couldn't help but get hooked on the album version. I think the descending guitar chords at the beginning helped draw me in, and now when I play it I LOVE that part.

And to add, which could be a different post altogether, I like when Stevie sings with Lindsey/Fleetwood Mac because she usually takes the higher parts of the harmony. Not that I mind her taking to the lower notes these days because basically, her voice sounds good that way, but I also love when she still lets loose and goes for the higher range -- example in Twisted (and the sun gooooooooes down, CHASING DOWN the demons, YOU THINK YOU HEAR DEMONS, I THINK YOU are the demons!)

Default I was just thinking about this!

It's funny - I was just thinking about how much I have come to love Thrown Down, I even just played the song on my computer so I could sing to it again...

At first, I wasn't too crazy about it at all...but now I really love it!!
