Just Tell me That You Want Me- more of a Stevie Nicks tribute album?
I really enjoy this Fleetwood Mac tribute album, but as I was listening to it today, I was struck by how many of the songs on the CD are Stevie Nicks songs. Out of the 17 tracks, 10 are written by Stevie, 1 is written by Christine, and 2 are written by Lindsey. The other 4 songs are written by the pre-Rumours lineup.
This really blows me away! And the wide variety of Stevie songs- sure, there's Rhiannon, Dreams, Landslide, Silver Springs, and Gypsy, but also songs like Straight Back, Sisters of the Moon, Gold Dust Woman, Angel, and Storms. I'm curious what other people think about this. Why did these artists choose so many Stevie songs over Lindsey and Christine? Good choices or bad choices? What does this say about the influence the band members have had on newer artists? Which songs do you like the most? I really love Think About Me, Straight Back, Gypsy, Silver Springs, and That's All For Everyone. |
