It was great but I know what you mean. IMHO its the technology. The live songs are more intricate and soft compared to the big arena rock versions. That happened ever since the Dance tour. The songs lose that edge (pardon the pun) live.

Ooh I really liked a glimpse at Stevie's soft side here though!

I think it was a fabulous performance for a talk show and Stevie looks and sounds great.

And I looooove seeing Stevie and Sharon duet with each other. I think this little video solidifies them as my OTP.

Oh my goodness, the little thingy in the right corner said I last visited 05-27-2003. Not too long after seeing the Mac on the SYW tour, IIRC. I was amazed I still had a registered account!

I've had an acute attack of my dormant Stevie/FM obsession starting last Spring and have been lurking around the Ledge enjoying all the recent appearances and goings on with Ms. Nicks. I so enjoyed seeing her on Ellen and can't imagine I'll ever tire of hearing her perform Edge of Seventeen. Though, if I had to guess I probably wouldn't have expected when I last posted in '03 that Stevie would still be singing on national TV 16 years later! Looking great too (timeless...).

In my excitement over both the performance and seeing a couple names pop up in this thread from back in the days of the original Ledge (I did most of my posting on the original message board...back when I was in college and rediscovered FM during The Dance), I couldn't resist logging in an expressing my excitement to fellow Stevie fans.

I hope everyone will be sharing detailed reviews of her concerts like we did back "in the old days" as I'm not going to be able to get to any of the shows. (At least there's YouTube now...though there was something special and fun about trading VHS tapes...)

Sorry to get off topic. She was great on Ellen today. Going to go rewatch!

I got some negatives on ebay I have yet to develop but based on what I could tell, there's a Bella Donna tour picture that might make your shipper heart very happy.

I thought it was pretty good, though I hate it when they cut songs to fit a TV schedule. I understand why they do it, but it really bugs me. She did it with Landslide as well. Did they really need to trim it by 20 seconds? I guess we don't have an attention span long enough to actually watch a whole song anymore.

Anyway, she sounded pretty good, though I think she relies heavily on her background singers on this song in particular. But anyway, hopefully she'll follow through on her promises this tour and do a whole bunch of new songs and songs she hasn't done ever or at least in a long time. (Crossing my fingers for Angel, though I'm sure that didn't even make that 31-song mythical list she gave to Waddy. : ) )

Pretty good performance! Sharon was great! Nice to see Marilyn back too.

Props to whoever whistled at her right in the beginning.

Default GREAT performance

Stevie is 68 years old. The fact she can still secure a spot on a top rated, national syndicated talk show is fantastic. She won't be around forever, and I was delighted to see her perform EO17! She appeared to promote the upcoming tour and sell tickets. The best way to do that was to perform a classic song. She can promote the 24K album during the tour by performing songs from it. You must realize that in order to sell tickets to the tour, the tv audience needed to hear one of her classics and show how hard she's still rocking. Hard core fans would of loved her to have sung a new song from the 24K album, true. But she wasn't appearing on "Ellen" to simply appeal to us hard core fans. She was trying to connect with the general public, to create interest in this tour to sell concert tickets. If one of the new songs was a top 40 radio hit, yeah, it would have made sense to do a new song on tv. But casual fans wouldn't know the song, and hearing an old favorite would make them more likely to be reminded of how awesome she is and get them to go buy tickets.
IMO, this is the best strategy. Once she is on stage, during the tour, then she CAN sing some of the newer songs, thus promoting sales for 24K.
Just my two cents.

She did mess up the hallway line. And she definitely glanced down at the teleprompter a little more than once...
