Default Comparative Listening

Ok, it's been bugging me since I've owned the Splinter Group's "Time Traders":

"Where have I heard 'Real World' before?"

I just heard. It really shouldn't surprise me, but it did, for some reason.

Compare "Real World" to the new live version of "Going Down Slow" on Eric Clapton's "One More Car, One More Rider" CD. The backbeat of both songs is so similar it's downright EERIE!

Now, would somebody PLEASE talk Eric & Peter into doing a full collaborative album (along the lines of the one that Eric & B.B. did)?? Half the album could be the two of them with Eric's band, and the other half the two of them with the Splinter Group. (and maybe a song or two with Mick, John & Christine as the rhythm section)

Hi Chili,

I agree about "Real World" and "Going Down Slow", in some way they are very similar, but a full collaboration between Peter and Eric.......

you are a keen fan, so just like all keen fans (and of course myself) you are dreaming...........

and my wildest dream is a re-relaese of "The End Of The Game" with unreleased stuff......

Maybe........someday.....soon.....maybe

Stay Green,

Mario.

Question SPEAKING OF ERIC

Did anyone see that post on Mick's board (at mickfleetwood.com) that someone put in "The biz" sectioin (I think it was) saying that Eric had been asked to join FM at the time of Jeremy's exit but he turned it down? This was news to me, has it ever been reported elsewhere by a substantial source?

John

I hadn't heard that, but Mick seems to toss Eric's name around quite a bit when it comes to "guitar replacements". Also, Eric was to be Lindsey's replacement after the infamous Australia show on the "Tusk" tour when Lindsey had his "melt down" and was nearly fired.

Eric had turned down Mick Jagger's offer to join the Stones in 1969, as well. Eric was in mid-tour with Blind Faith at the time...was enamored with Delaney & Bonnie and Friends and was preferring to join them at the time; so he said "no" to the Stones. They got ANOTHER ex-Bluesbreaker instead: Mick Taylor.
