I didn't really care for the performance, but I thought what he said after was really sweet. He said it had always been a dream of his to sing a Fleetwood Mac song, and that they were one of his favorites. Good promo for the band. It might even introduce a new generation of fans to the band.

Yuck. The chorus WAS out of his range and he just didn't have the passion behind it. It's like he didn't know the back story or couldn't incorporate the emotion into his performance.
On the positive side, I do agree that it was nice to hear a Mac song. And, it was better than Nikki McKibbin's Rhiannon a few years ago.

I had a dream about that Aussie Idol guy. He's really really hot.

But no where near as hot as Lindsey.

Oh, and you know how on iTunes the preformances of this season are gonna be availble? well...I was looking at reviews of it, just for laughs, and some little teeny bopers said that this was better then both the Original Rumours version, AND the Dance...

And these are people around my age....
thats sick.

The first verse and chorus were ok but the second verse when he tried to 'do his own thing' wasn't so good. I've heard much worse versions though, such as the cover Wilson Phillips did on their California album. That was particularly horrendous.

On balance I like to hear FM stuff getting airplay on radio and being featured on the TV, that's the only way that new fans will get into the band. Hopefully it wont discourage others from attempting to cover Lindsey's songs.

I was expecting the worst from what I read in this post.... I don't think it's that terrible. definately not the original, but a good attempt.

I didn't think it was terrible either, but I still don't think he hit the high notes very well.
