I just saw this. How horrific. I wonder what was going on that she drove into a house, then drove away and hit another house. Was she having a medical emergency? Or maybe a mental health emergency. I'm hoping the very best for her.

I'm guessing mental not physical.

There's a photo (TMZ or some such) of her in her car prior to the event (not clear if it was taken by a neighbor or a paparazzi or what) and they zoomed in on what looks like a bottle of booze..but who knows.

Their story says she rammed into a different bldg, an apartment complex or something first, then when people came out and tried to interact with her she raced off, and then hit someone's house with her car which somehow started a nasty fire (gas tank of car exploding, who knows) and the house was badly burned, as was she. People tried getting her out but she was reportedly freaking out. There's reports and some pics of first responders getting her out and onto a stretcher and her clothes are clearly sooty and she was being somewhat aggressive with them as they tried loading her into the ambulance.

I remember a long time ago she was in some strangers yard howling at the moon or something strange like that. Sounds like she's been a looney bin for her whole life.

She suffered a severe anoxic brain injury, that's bad bad news, it's brain deprived of oxygen. I just read she won't make it. The family will disconnect the machines keeping her alive, or so I read.

The family is planning to donate her organs to those in need.

This is very sad. Thankfully no one else was killed or injured. I was a fan of hers from the first episode I saw her in on Another World- she really did jump off the screen even then, and I wasn’t a bit surprised when she became successful after leaving the show. I read a disturbing interview with her where she spoke about having regular conversations with God, which told me right away she had serious mental health issues. There’s a difference between meditation/prayer and thinking you’re having conversations with God, and her later behaviors were examples of that. She grew up with a father who was gay but closeted, who died from AIDS, and she went from high school right to the soap opera.

Has Lindsey said anything at all about this? I was hoping even a simple comment of condolences or sympathy would be forthcoming. Even Ellen Degeneres has expressed concern for her.
