I quit school when I was sixteen, stayed at home for four years(working on a novel, singing, exercising, playing guitar, drawing, painting, choreographing dances, watching 'General Hospital', experiencing a lot of the first times I never got to while in high school, ext. ...) Now, I work as an ice cream scooper, at Marble Slab Creamery! I'm saving money to go visit my birth mother's back-up singer in Jersey

I'm a Services Cost Engineer. I work with an environmental engineering group that contracts with the Department of Defense and various branches of the US military. In a nutshell, I'm responsible for ensuring that the charges we bill to government contracts are accurate, timely and in compliance with the contractual terms. Most of the work my company does is in Iraq, or at various US Air Force bases.

Good to hear your residency's going well! No worries - everyone will be so shocked that there's a nice non-arrogant anesthesiologist, they'll have to be nice to you. You have my respect for sure - anesthesia scares the crap out of me.

I have noticed they really put nurses down on that show..(and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the show....of course not becuase of that!!! ) but I just wondered do you just take it with a grain of salt or does it tick you off when they degrade the nurses..??

and yes....i do know its....just a show...but just curious

I know! Sometimes I feel like a translator! And Grey's doesn't offend me at all, since it is a show about interns, not nurses. I don't mind. ER did a decent job at showing nurses in a positive light - then they sent Abby to med school (further implying the mistaken assumption that all nurses want to be doctors) and cut the other nurses' parts so you hardly ever see them anymore. Stupid TV.

completely off the topic but how do you quote several people?? (and actually have their names show up)

but on the subject of Grays, I don't know...like when Alex fails his test or something and they joked and said he was going to end up as a nurse and that type of thing

I am very much in awe of those that work in the medical field. Those are the type of professions I would have trouble doing. A lady I know works with terminally ill children. Talk about having your heart ripped out on a daily basis! Although the kids handle it better than the parents. I could never handle a job like that, poor little peeps.

Cut & paste, my sweet.

1 - Quote a post
2 - Write your reply, but don't submit
3 - Highlight the entire thing, right click, then cut
4 - Hit your browser's "back" button to return to the thread
5 - Quote another post
6 - Left click in the reply space (to make sure your curser's in the right place), then right click & paste.

And so on & so on. It's not hard, but sometimes in the cut & paste madness you'll lose a ] or [ symbol, which screws it up, so you just have to find out what you accidentally deleted & put it back in.

Did that make sense?

You mean you have patients who are engaged in advocacy? That's great. If you want to PM me, I'd love to talk more about it.
