How about Strong Hand by Emmylou Harris? She wrote it for Johnny Cash after June Carter Cash died. If that doesn't move you to tears, you have a heart of stone!

I have heaps of favourite sad songs...my "Sad" playlist on the comp has around 250 songs, but the best (imo) are:

Faces - Blondie
English Boys - Blondie
(Can I) Find The Right Words (To Say) - Blondie
Boys In The Trees - Carly Simon
That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be - Carly Simon
In Pain - Carly Simon
Uncool - Courtney Love
We Used To - Dolly Parton
You Have Placed A Chill In My Heart - Eurythmics
Don't Ask Me Why - Eurythmics
Cup Of Coffee - Garbage
Bleed Like Me - Garbage
A Stroke Of Luck - Garbage
You Look So Fine - Garbage (I love all of their slower 'down' stuff)
Safe And Sound - Sheryl Crow ( I don't think anyone's mentioned that yet..excellent song)
Home - Sheryl Crow
Rock A Little - Stevie

And she says "Hey, baby, can you bleed like me?
C'mon, baby, can you bleed like me?"

Oy. It's devastating.

All I listen to are either angry or sad songs, since I'm a little self-loathing emo kid like that.

The Pretenders - Kid, Back on the Chain Gang, The Losing, Chill Factor, The English Roses.. I could go on, as Chrissie Hynde's voice has this ablity to turn me into a weeping mess.
U2 - All I Want is You, Running to Stand Still, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, With Or Without You, One, MLK, etc.
Blondie - Faces, Follow Me
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps
Pearl Jam - Last Kiss
Garbage - A Stroke of Luck, The Trick is to Keep Breathing, Medication, Cup of Coffee
No Doubt - Don't Speak, Too Late, Suspension Without Suspense, Sometimes
The Kinks - Celluloid Heroes
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah
RHCP - Under the Bridge
Nirvana - All Appologies

I'll Stand By You - Pretenders

I'm listening to it now and I just thought it was sad. Not sure if anyone said it yet

Not yet! Such a sad song! I want someone to stand by me!!! Oh, wait, that's a Stevie song I just accidentally quoted. Their cover of Bob Dylan's Forever Young kills me too.

God, ISBY makes me weep like a little baby. As does Forever Young. Thanks for making me all emo, Chrissie. -_-

Oh! Forgot about Wise Up by Aimee Mann. So beautiful. Gah.

Pearl Jam is touring Canada this summer. Weird, eh? Why would that be? No US dates? Too bad I don't like them! But I've got friends who are totally flipping out to see them!
