Exclamation Lol

My grandparents lived in it before we did....and the other house we lived in from the time I was born until I was 6, they and we lived in that one too. My dad knows how to get out of paying rent. LOL Kidding, he does pay her rent, unlike some OTHER people in my family who have taken advantage of my grandmother's generous nature.

My bedroom is on the end with that one window. I'm rarely in there though, except to sleep. I live in the den with this dang computer. I need help.

Default My house...

I live in a 4,000 sq ft. white house with black shutters that was built in 1735. It's a couple minutes from the center of our quaint little New England town. Emory Washburn was born and grew up in the house and he went on to be the last Whig governor of MA in 1858. It's got 5 bedrooms on the second floor and a 2 more on the third. There are four kids in my family and my grandmother lives with us as well. There was some asbestos in the cellar and things are basically falling apart everywhere. Worcester Airport took most of my grandfather's cow pasture by eminent domain, but otherwise there are some nice fields and woods around and I really can't complain. I'm very grateful for what I have.

I was going to post that your house looks pretty American too, Pip. I guess I thought everyone lived in old stone cottages in the UK.

I'll post a pic soon.

They're building a new housing development next to mine. It was advertised to all of us that it would be low income housing. Everyone shuddered at the thought and the prospect of the crazies relocating from the city. However, this low income housing? begins at $250,000+ O_o Everything here is astronomical. If you want something for a few hundred a month to rent, you'd be living in a cardboard box. They've been selling townhouses around here for $200,000. Sick. Totally sick.

There's a crappy little neighborhood in our burb that's mostly row apartments, some homes. Some guy wants to come in, tear it all down & rebuild. Not a bad idea, since those apartments were supposed to be temporary housing after WWII . But where is everyone supposed to go?

BTW - they want to build brownstones and "mid-price" homes. Of course, mid price starts @ $125,000. Oh so affordable for the lower-middle class

I live in a high rise. I used to live in a big ole house, which I still partly own. I am looking to lease the condo out and buy a town house. My life is a little complicated from a real estate vantage point

Well, as we say around here, "don't even get me stahted". If a corporation built it everyone would have been fired it was so badly managed. Mass. Transit Authority is a joke.
