Default Dawn of the Dead

Is anyone else looking forward to this movie? I love the original and the new one has Sarah Polley and Ving Rhames in it (two GREAT actors) and it has gotten great reviews.

Hopefully I'll see it this weekend.

I had no idea Sarah Polley was in this movie...hmmm...perhaps I'll see it. I'm looking forward to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I'm not a Jim Carrey fan but it seems as though he plays an excellent part in this film. Plus, I really love Kate Winslet and Elijah Wood

I thought the same thing when I saw she was in it...hmmmm. It really doesn't seem like the kind of movie she would make. Did you see that movie she made with Helen Mirren and Julie Christie called "No Such Thing"? OMG, what a great flick. Totally weird and original. I just saw it last week and just had to order it. You like foreign films, so it should be right up your alley.

Mark Ruffalo was on Ellen the other day to promote the Jim Carrey movie and it looks pretty good.

I'm not sure. The cinematography looiks a bit contrived to me, like I saw it recently in 28 Days Later. But I'll reserve judgment for later.

Yes. I also love Night Of The Living Dead. I can't remember if that's the one where they're at the shopping mall. Classic.

Close! That was the first movie in the Romero zombie trilogy. It was in Black and WHite and took place in a country house. All three were filmed here in Pittsburgh. Dawn of the Dead, the second film, is the one at Monroeville Mall. (The mall is just east of Pittsburgh and my closest shopping center!)

Day of the Dead is the final film in the trilogy. I wish Romero was handling the remake himself...although I hear the new one is quite good, but different from the original.

As an interesting aside...a couple of my family friends play zombies in the original "Dawn"...it's pretty funny to see them shuffling around!

Do any of them get shot or decapitated?

I love the original NOTLD, but you've gotta admit that the remake from '90 was pretty darn good. I was rather shocked that it was so good, with the exception of the ending.

Day of the Dead was alright, but not near as good as Dawn!

No...just walking shots. It would be a much better story if they bit it!

Yeah...Day of the Dead is probably my least favorite..

I also love the Return of the Dead series. Great spoof movies.

I finally saw it and it totally rocked. I hate to say it, but I think it was just as good as the original. Sarah Polley and Ving Rhames rocked, as usual. It's one of very few horror movies that actually brought a tear to my eye; there were some heartbreaking moments.

Having said that, I wouldn't advise seeing it if you have a weak stomach. It was much gorier than the original. Some of it was nauseating. I'm shocked that they got an R rating. Valenti must not give a **** now that he's retiring.
