Default worst stevie lyrics evahhhhhh!!!

Okay, this has probably been posted already too, but perhaps you feel like beating a dead horse?

Worst Stevie Lyrics:

"I remember him
He was very young
No one spoke like him
He was someone"

I nearly barf every time I hear those words. And the fact that she OPENS the Trouble in Shangri-La album with that kills me!

Another one that drives me crazy is...
"Love is very powerful"

Stevie? Seriously? You can do better than that! I do love that woman though!

Really? I <3 those lyrics.....reminds me of a boy I once dated.

I dislike:

-"Children of the world, the forgotten chimpanzee"

-Desert Angel...the whole damn song

-"I want to fly through the world in a golden ball"

-TMMS chorus

yup! The fact that she integrated the word chimpanzee into a song is pretty awful! I don't know. I'm still not a fan of "I remember him, he was very young..." It just doesn't have a good flow to it. Sounds awkward.

Another doozie is:

"It hurts my self esteem. It hurts my everything. I am reeling. Ooh, it hurts my feelings!"

Barffffff!!!

Another one I love. But when it comes to me, I love everything Stevie writes (expect Desert Angel )....

"I am a cliff dweller, from the old school" is fairly bad, but it fits so well into the song that I have grown to love that line!

Pretty much all of That Made Me Stronger and Desert Angel.

"Street angels live on the street and they always will." (Though the rest of the song is good)

"It's just like a river, it's never ending" is pretty bad, as is the "you can't have him" stuff in EFO.

Rhinestone collections all the time....I wonder what Greta would say?

Garbo...the whole song

The verses to Nightbird

(Still, I love them)

There's a line from ghosts that I don't make any sense out of:
of course I looked it up, and I was singing it wrong for years...that always happens-- you sing whatever lyrics you thing she's saying, although....

To feel the empty spaces she's feeling
She depends on her music like a husband

Makes little sense...why feel what she's already feeling?

Isn't the line actually "to fill the empty spaces she's feeling"?

Actually many critics consider that to be a great line.

I think that line is creative, intriguing and poetic. It's unique, thought-provoking and not pedestrian in any way.

Even though I love The Blue Lamp (and make no mistake, I do LOVE this song) I find it a bit odd that she wrote a whole song about a lamp. I mean...it's a lamp...come on. Lamps are not interesting, they're not romantic, and I don't care if it's a Tiffany lamp, it's downright silly. Not to diss Stevie or anything but the lamp inspiration has always struck me as a bit strange.

If you take it THAT literally, my guess is you basically don't really get the song. The imagery is a blue lamp but obviously the song is actually about a breakup from someone, not a song about a lamp.

I want to FLY through the world in a golden ball, many of the cities I never saw at all...how could you hate those lines? Oh well, to each his own.

Actually an interesting side note, I was watching an AOL interview with the lead singer and the drummer of The Killers, and Brandon (Brendon?) Flowers, the lead singer, said that he didn't like not being able to see more of the cities because they're too busy setting up and then getting ready to leave. These Sweet Girl lines popped in my head right away.

Back on track, I agree with "It hurts my self esteem. It hurts my everything. I am reeling. Ooh, it hurts my feelings," which all_the_same mentioned, as the worst lyrics Stevie has written. Also, on the Fall from Grace demo, I love the verse that goes "Falling down a crystal ball into crystal stairs, I'm doing the same things over and over..." but then ends the verse with "Going in for repairs." Ugh.

She started a whole album with
"you can ride high atop your pony,
i know you won't fall,
cuz the whole thing's phony"
..............what a silly word to rhyme with pony
