Oh, yes! "The Maker Of Birds" became one of my favourite songs when I first heard it in August 1988, when I bought the 3-LP set of Uncirculated Rumours at a record show in Houston. And it has remained near the very top of my favourites for the last 22 years.

The best parts for me are:
"When at first he saw her
It seemed she had no name...
She sat alone, and it seemed to him
That the light and the face were the same..."

And the first time Stevie sings:
"For you, Rhiannon,
I would fight, I would fight the world..."

Ooh, I have chills right now listening to it!!!!

I like that part too. And when she sings:

For you
for you
For you
or in my blood

none of these have great sound quality, but are listenable. prob not much of a sound upgrade.

"Thousand Days" - The fast outtake from Rock A Little.
http://www.mediafire.com/?e18m0wk4capj87i

"All The King's Horses" - A very different keyboard/drum machine demo with Stevie & The Girls. I like the rock band versions, too, but this one is really cool with different lyrics, but the sound is poor.
http://www.mediafire.com/?eg6cu9wivb1jgy7

"I Call You Missing" - Need I say more?
http://www.mediafire.com/?jtxwg4nvpb00n9j (i have this labeled as "She Calls You Missing")

"Rooms On Fire" - Talked about cassette-dubbed to death! The demo with the very different lyrics sounds like it was recorded under water, and I've never heard an upgrade.
http://www.mediafire.com/?ry9azdonjvmn3at

"Wild Heart" & "Nightbird" - The album versions with the full end lyrics, but cassette-dubbed into waaayyyyy sped up and tinny sound.
Wild Heart - http://www.mediafire.com/?w2z7yxjurftqa7g
Nightbird - http://www.mediafire.com/?gi9vxu8flf611ll

"Silver Springs" - Piano demo; Any upgrades? The two I have sound like someone is carrying the tape recorder and walking around the room away from and back to Stevie throughout.

Now, I'm going to request a few more, with my hope renewed!

"Mabel Normand"

"Blue Lamp"/"It's Not A Dream" - That combo keyboard/drum machine demo from the Rock A Little era.

"Destiny" - Outtake from The Wild Heart, the six-minute version, not the 4-minute edit.

"No Questions Asked" - FULL Ending version of Greatest Hits version (Not from the Masters, which are different mixes. This is the full ending, which keeps going, and Stevie sings, "She sees him whenever she can... Night after night, no questions asked... No questions asked...")

I LOVE this demo. This might be a stoopid question, but do we know which other songs from the era were written for the 'Three Songs of Rhiannon' album? I'd love to hear them all together.

Which songs?

"The Maker Of Birds", "Forest Of The Black Roses" and "Forsaken Love" were copyrighted in March 1978. "Sorcerer" in 1972, "Planets Of The Universe" in 1976.

No idea about "Stay Away" ~ sounds about 1978 to me, but I've never seen a copyright date.

"Planets" and "Sorcerer" were not written for the Rhiannon project.

I said the same thing here a few months ago, and I was pointed in the direction of this 2001 interview:

http://rockalittle.com/interview_969...ix_may2001.htm

Stevie herself gives the answer herself after this question:

The opening guitar line in “Planets” is a nod to Lindsey’s guitar part from “Rhiannon.” Did you write it that way back in ’76?

“Well, it’s the same chords basically as ‘Rhiannon’; it’s not exactly the same, but there are parts of it that are the same. ‘Planets Of The Universe’ was one of the ‘Rhiannon’ songs—I have 11 songs over all of these years that if I ever wanted to [I could] do a movie or something built around the story of ‘Rhiannon.’ Those songs are all continuations of each other—‘Planets,’ ‘Rhiannon’ and ‘Sorcerer.’ I have recorded all 11 of them, just sat and played them all in a row to see what my line was through the whole thing, and for a long time I didn’t want to separate them.”

Are we familiar with any of those other tracks or are they songs that haven’t been released yet?

“There’s two or three on all the solo albums all the way back, but there’s probably seven left.”

According to Stevie, 7+3=11
