Default Any Ledgies own a motorcycle?

So does anyone here own a motorcycle?
I'm considering buying a Harley Davidson.
I'd like to know about your experiences riding.

So should I, or shouldn't I?

I've never been on a motorcycle. Totally want to. I'm an adrenaline junkie.

Thanks for your responses.

Viv, where should I ride to?

Gretchen, that Ducati looks awesome.

HejiraNYC, I think you hit the nail on the head.

Dani, if the bike I might be buying had room for
two I'd give you a ride. FAST>>>>>>>>>>>>.

The Harley I'm interested in is the SPORTSTER IRON 883 (Black).

Cool My 4 brother-in-laws...

own Harley's (One of Debbie's brothers works as a mechanic on Harley's along with her cousin)...So just go for it is my opinion to you, but be careful because most motorcyclists are NOT treated kindly on the road by automobile drivers/semi-truck drivers...Some truck drivers will intentionally try to move bikers off the road.

Unfortunately I have no sense of balance, so I cannot see myself owning a motorcycle, but I used to own a Suzuki Shuttle FA50 which I drove in my early teen years to pick up the girls in my neighborhood (Including my friend Trina, who would ride with me so we both could mow yards in the summertime - She would sit back-to-back with me as I drove and she pulled the lawnmower & weed-eater behind)

Cool story estranged4life. And your right about other drivers not showing
respect to bikers.

It's a big decision to buy one, so we shall see...

One of my friends once said: "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul." That couldn't be more true if you're a two wheeled enthusiast. Whenever I ride, it totally melts away my worries and just makes me happy to be alive!

My parents have owned Harleys since the '60s. They're pretty, but they're loud, drive like a bucket of bolts, and require constant tinkering.

Personally I own a pair of 150cc Vespas. They make urban commuting and errands a ton of fun, and I can scoot out to the lakes outside of town, too. We're even part of a scooter club that does group rides and such... so much fun. I'll be upgrading to 300cc Vespas at some point so we can go on interstates and truly travel with our bikes.

Here are my Vespas:

Here I am riding near Lake Austin:

My other half riding near Lake Travis:

Definitely try going two wheel... it's a lot of fun!

(that's not my personal comment on bikers- I personally don't care one way or the other- but it has been at the cultural fore lately...)

laughing loudly during that episode, because there is some truth to the fact that some bikers just love to rev-up just to annoy people, similar to those with loud bass driven car systems.

Speaking of loud sounding transportation, The other day I was in OKC and I swore I heard a loud Harley pulling up next to me at the intersection, turns out to be a '70 Chevelle 502, similar to this one in a youtube vid (But painted Jet Black) :
