I have said this before but the Mirage tour was the last Mac tour of just pure and raw arena rock. In 1987 came back up singers, added percussionists, etc. The Dance created a studio sound at their live concerts. Its technology in the modern age of music. But I miss the arena rock and the unpredictability that comes with it. There are so many flubs on this US Festival concert. The opener Chain has almost a complete break down after the bass solo until the band catches its groove back to finish the song. Its almost like being at a rehearsal. This is how rock n roll is supposed to be.
Programmed instead of rehearsed--you did a better job of describing it.

Hoo boy. The best thing about this is Lindsey's beautifully tailored clothing. What got thrown on stage? Is Stevie wearing an ear monitor? She's high AF. She and Chris look great though.

"highness" is relative... I mean I tended to think she seemed mostly ok on this one-- she was well aware she mucked up the verses, and I love how she gets that embarrassed "oh ****" look on her face and tries to hide by putting her arms on her head. She didn't get overly distracted (just a bit) by whatever someone threw on the stage toward her....... there are shows where she's just singing gibberish and clearly doesn't even realize it, etc....... she got much, much worse as time went on.....

as for the band "letting" her take some notes lower--- what are they gonna do, put a gun to her head? If she can't reach the notes, she can't reach the notes. Tweak the song to save the show and not have everyone talking afterwards in reviews and such about how badly she missed a high note.

The sound on all these videos sucks ass. Upsetting that when they're finally being released it's in this wonky sound quality.

That being said, I love how Mick's drums and Lindsey's guitar sound at the opening of the song. Stevie sounds quite good too, but then idk if it's the sound or her voice cracking or whatever, the ending is kinda rough, sounds more like she's just shouting instead of singing. Christine's harmony tho....yikes.

I've always wanted to see this video and I'm not disappointed, in its rawness it's still fabulous.

Same here... and the sound is only one speaker....

I don't need it to be perfect. Raw is always better for me. The harmonies on most of these have been off.

A friend of mine said these US Festival videos should have been on the Mirage deluxe release.

I said, no, they should have BEEN the Mirage deluxe release.

^^^

I love it!

Especially without all the overdubs they did for the Mirage video.

Ugh, finally. They are taking forever with these uploads. Great video, but I think I like the Mirage video better. I really want Sara and Hold Me. How long have we been waiting for a Hold Me live video from 1982? And I really want a Sara live from 1982.
