Default Lindsey Interview

"There was a bunch of material that I cut with John (McVie) and Mick (Fleetwood), about a year-and-a-half ago, before we hit the road last time. And a couple of those made it into the show and we put out this little EP from that -- but there were quite a few other things. So, y’know, we had that as a starting point for an album."

"We were here at the Village for I think 4 weeks, then we took a week off, and then we were here for another 4 weeks. And this is our last few days. And we got 8 tracks, very far along... You know like 75% done in that amount of time. And all of those except for 1 are Christine, or co-writes between Christine and myself. Because it seemed like the priority was to work on her stuff then to get her feeling comfortable and feeling far along with this process and we managed that very well".

Well I haven't had any doubt that Lindsey and Christine were on board with making an album and that's what they've been working toward.

What this also sounds like is they're breaking for now, maybe until rehearsals start? And not to be joined by Stevie at this time.

Well it's been pretty vague concerning what they've been recording for: EP, greatest hits package, new album, etc.

That last interview in the LA Times also mentioned they were "shelving" the songs for the moment. Who knows when they will finish. :-/

I'm guessing Christine will go home for a while to be with her dogs until the tour rehearsals start. Stevie will not be recording (I think she eventually will) until after the tour.

If they want to sell this new music it's going to have be released on tour this fall.

Well, the old batch from 2012 have only Lindsey on vocals, with room for Stevie, in her key. So those are not finished yet, vocally, either. They are going to shelve this, wait for Stevie, and finish it in 2015 after the tour, I guess. Or, they are finishing it with vocals from Stevie in the mix and bring it out without SN-written tracks.

I don't see them releasing an album without at least three songs written by Stevie.

well so he says the goal for those 8 weeks in the studio was to get Christine comfortable with her stuff, the process, working together with him etc. Not necessarily to do a FM album or to have Stevie involved at all. But for Chris to get back up to speed with writing and arranging and recording her material as material for FM which means working again with Lindsey. So this makes perfect sense to me why Stevie isn't there.
