Also, Pat's version of "Wuthering Heights" sh*ts on Kate's. I like some Kate songs but her helium voice can get tiring. I know Stevie has a distinctive voice that some people dislike too, but remember this is her forum and we should show respect here. All of a sudden this place is becoming a showcase for all the forgotten females like Carole and Kate who did NOT get in. Better luck next year ladies. Stevie is in twice. Love it or hate it, but it's a fact. |

Kate Bush is so reclusive she would never turn up for the induction ceremony and it doesn't even sound like the kind of accolade befitting her body of work and persona.
I wouldn't mind seeing a dance-off between Stevie and Kate though.

A b*tch who is responsible for Stevie not being a retired elementary school teacher and instead being the only women to be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice.

The RRHOF is decidedly American. If you are a band/singer that hasn't resonated on US soil, the RRHOF is going to be a tough load to carry over the goal line. I would think Carole and Tina and even Pat see it long before Kate ever will. . I am not saying it's right--it's just the politics of it, IMO. Stevie 110% deserves this induction, and I sincerely mean it. As far as scruples, these people (all of them) have none! None! I completely disagree and am appalled by how she/Mick handled the LB situation, but I am mature enough to recognize her achievement here. |

I think both Pat and Kate will be inducted within the next five years, but I don't think either one should get in before Carly and Carole!

I am very aware of that. Stevie and all things Fleetwood Mac were in the hopper by the mid 90s .Even a superb album like Out of the Cradle flopped then. Pat did not have a Fleetwood Mac level band to engineer a comeback .She consequently she has been in the state fair/casino/oldies tour package circuit for decades now.

Pat Benatar definitely was a trailblazer. She burst onto the scene with her debut platinum album in 1979 and followed that up with many more platinum albums. She was one of the only artists female or male that could get a top 10 album and pack arenas without even having a top 10 single as she's only had four top 10 singles, her songs were basically played majorly by rock radio. She opened the doors for many many rock and roll females. To say that Pat benatar wasn't groundbreaking, is just naive. She was pure arena Rock! She definitely needs to be inducted. Along with Stevie, Pat was one the biggest female Rock stars of the 80's. As for Kate Bush, she was hugely popular in Europe and critically acclaimed in the United States, but her sales impact here was so minimal I don't think Kate Bush belongs in the Hall of Fame.

Just thoughts... I feel that as an American, Kate Bush is one of the greatest "unknown" behemoths in music. She's hugely successful around the globe except America... and perhaps equally as importantly, hugely influential and trail blazing for many acts who followed (and still today). What a weirdo risk taker (I mean that 100% positively). I don't love all of her work, but I do love much of it, and respect ALL of it. She's not for everyone of course, we all have differing tastes, but that doesn't negate the value of her work. Such an important place in the history of alt rock and women in music. |

Street Angel flopped and she did do state fairs. I saw her at the Ohio State fair. Her career tanked. The Dance saved her career. She is extremely lucky.

I saw Stevie's TOSOTM tour at a state fair in 89 and I saw her Gold Dust tour at a casino in 07. She has been down there plenty.
