I really like the music video. Tons of atmosphere.

I don’t dislike the song, lots of atmosphere which is good …she whispers a lot because her voice isn’t that good these days….(maybe she should lay off touring for a year)
But her voice does give a witchy sound. Which I like.

But I do not like the video…
I’m not a lover of political songs, anyway.
Yes everyone has a message, but this over eggs the point.

I don’t hate it, in fact I’m loving the chorus up really loud with the booming crash of the bass. Yes love the whole vibe and sound. Only one cringe moment when she sings i am a lighthouse, is it the third verse but that chorus makes up for it lol. The video where Stevie’s in it is fab. 7.5/10
Overall good video and a decent song. Gives me hope for a great new album.

Do you think that releasing this song almost simultaneously with the Mirage Live album is a coincidence, or is there some marketing strategy?

I don't see any connection. The election is in just over 30 days. She would have to release this now or never. She may know about the Mirage release but only us hardcore fans know about it and will buy it. But the masses that worship her who also may not know or care about the Mirage release will eat this up.

Now what is NOT a coincidence is her SNL performance that is upcoming. Now we understand that this is most likely the song she will perform. The industry has changed so much. I dont think she will release another album. If this song goes viral after SNL she can sell about 200k downloads which will yield a nice profit. Look what happened to Dreams after that Tik Tok incident. The downloads of that song soared mostly from people that did not know or own Rumours. She made some good coin with that. When Seven Wonders was used on American Horror Story I think it sold about 200k downloads immediately after. Sadly this is where the music industry is.

This is a pretty good song, my only quip would be the length of the opening part, would have worked much better to have kept that at the first 20-30 secs as an opening and crank it up to the pretty good chorus part. It does resonate and the production is pretty good. Makes me hopeful for just one more album and I don't mind if she mixes old with new as there are many gems still in the vaults.

The video is awesome and Halloween creepy to boot!

I hope her other new songs have more of a melody.

I applaud Stevie for taking a stand on a hot button topic. She is risking losing some fans. I think you get to a certain age where you don't care what other people think. Stevie has always had her political beliefs but never wanted to talk or sing about them until a few years ago. I really like the chorus of the song and the vocal. But not so much of the verses. Reminds me of the Elvis vocal she did. Candyland? I hope though that we might get an album. Fingers crossed

All I can say is, I’m just thrilled to see where her vote will go. My beliefs would never be swayed by a celebrity when it comes to politics; having said that, it says a lot that celebrities like Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Oprah Winfrey, and yes Stevie are endorsing or voting for Harris, while celebrities like Papa Roach, Ted Nugent, Laura Lommer, and Tucker Carlson are endorsing or voting for Trump.

I love seeing all the stories on yahoo, msn, and google about Stevie’s song, and I hope the song makes me people really think about Roe vs Wase.

it takes too long to build up. The whispering beginning is a bit cringy, she cannot pronounce "s" anymore without sounding like her dentures are slipping and she can't stay in tune well

It needs to hit the rocking part wayyyy sooner. It doesn't kick in til 2:20. That's almost a whole song length.....

She has a very personal interest in the topic of Roe v Wade. She had the choice to terminate a pregnancy(s) and live her life as she wanted. If the proposed laws (and in many states now, existing laws) were around, she'd have been either forced to have a child she didn't want, which would have been either pawned off on someone else to raise, or raised around drugs and insanity on the road, and left unattended so.... lots of pervs in show biz.... so yeah, great life for the kid. OR, she would have used her money that most people wouldn't have who aren't rock stars and found a doctor somewhere who would have terminated it for her....but medical procedures done in secret always risk being done by unqualified quacks just making a buck..... OR, by the new laws, she could have been arrested and put in jail for years, along with anyone who not only performed the procedure but anyone who drove her to the procedure, flew her to the procedure, helped pack her suitcase knowing what she was going to do, etc etc etc... Total witch hunt over something that is no one else's business. I may rag on her for some of her performances etc, but she has a vested interest in this issue. Her line "I have my scars" is not by accident......

I give her props for being willing to put herself out there. She'll get a ton of negative attention from a lot of scary folks. There are a lot of high profile people who don't want to deal with all of that and choose to be silent instead.

While similar to "Show Them the Way", this song is better. The lyrics are more concrete (although she still needs an editor, but she has for 30 years) and sonically, it's more interesting. I agree about the whispered vocal, but unfortunately, her full singing voice is just shouting these days. Her voice works well in the chorus.

I don't mind the politics. Stevie is a white woman of privilege. I'm glad she is using her voice, however belatedly that may be.
