I cannot wait for these shows and the new album! With that said if he does big love and never going back again, my eyes might roll into the back of my head...and not in a good way.

haha you know better, there's no doubt he'll do those 2. although i have an extremely slim hope he'll go back to faster version of NGBA.

Reviews starting to come in, this guy is the music reviewer for the Sydney Morning Herald. He is constantly a little curmudgeonly so i take this review with that in mind.

thanks! considering we haven't heard most of these songs yet (other than Feel About You), interesting to read their descriptions and try to decipher how they may sound -

"Fan warmth though can only go so far and there’s little here to elicit more than a “that’s nice” response. As in that’s nice that Lay Down For Free has a chorus with lush-toned bank of voices and Love Is Here To Stay features pretty guitar picking. That’s nice that the piano ballad Game Of Pretend looks like going deep, before an oversweetened/infantilised chorus undercuts andFeel About You has Paul McCartney-like jauntiness and willingness to tiptoe on the cheesiness line.
And that that’s nice that Too Far Gone has some sorta/kinda nod to Tusk drums and Carnival Began takes a slightly snaky guitar line, and later a good but generic solo, on a walk with an attractive vocal melody."

i conclude songs i may potentially or partially like would be Lay Down For Free, Too Far Gone and Carnival Begins.

i'll probably really dislike Game of Pretend considering the other review similarly labeled it as schmaltz. pretty guitar picking in Time Precious Time, Say Goodbye, or originall Seeds was not enough for me. and FAY being McCartney-esque i think somebody here already noted.

So being a curmudgeon means you can't write a fair and impartial review

Too bad, I'm still holding out hope. I see this will make a few very happy here. A certain liquor. ha ha.

Um how about, I read his reviews weekly and know the tone he writes with. Often slamming critically acclaimed work.

Seriously just enough already with the constant negativity.

If you're not interested in the record, don't read about it, don't buy it, don't even bloody think about it.

I absolutely HATE OSOTM, and I'm feeling rather curmudgeonly, so there's that.

Don't judge me.

I couldn't access the site at work (THANKFULLY I can access the ledge).

How did this curmudgeon review other Mac-related work?

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

well, even apparently known curmudgeon expresses way higher opinion of the only song we actually heard that he talks about. maybe that will make all "curmudgeons" here take some introspective look.

honestly, i can see some huge LB fans here possibly writing very similar review once we hear the whole album. this review basically says this is a somewhat schmaltzy album in the vein of pop we've heard from Fleetwood Mac in the past. that's fair opinion, different from repeated negativity.
